I'm using a Arctic Freezer 7 and my idle temps are 48C-50C. Load is around 65C. They don't seem like damaging numbers, but it is rediculous that these temps are so high for no reason at all. I'm looking for a cpu cooler that doesn't use the push in pins and has great cooling 3xC idle. My gpu is at 50C idle and I don't think its my case. My case isn't known for superb cooling, but it by far isn't a bad case. It's more for style then cooling.

This is my case

Any ideas for better cooling besides "Get an Antec 900" this case matches my room perfectly and I'm not into spaceships.

did you try reseating the cooler? in an antec 300 with the freezer 7, my temps have never gone above 45, and that's with an overclock. but, my house is always freezing.

I've tried reseating and changing the thermal like 5 times. I'm at the point of giving up and just buying a new cooler. Plus my cooler is making a weird clicking noise, but theres no wires in the way of the fan and nothing else obstructing the fan or airflow at all.

My e8400 overclocked doesnt even get up to 65c unless I run prime95 for 20+ minutes, btw Im also using a freezer pro 7.

Try reseating it and getting some thermal paste.

BTW my cpu is OC'd to 3.2ghz(most e5200's go way beyond that without increasing voltage.) My cpus vcore is at 1.34. Just reapplied as5 and now according to Speed Fan I'm idleing at 45-46. According to Real temp I'm idleing at 33-34. Before I left bios it said 40. I think my sensors can be all messed up is that possible? When I click on ANYTHING Speed fan jumps from 42 to 56 and keeps going up so I'm not sure which one to trust here. I'm confuzzled right about now.

Why up the voltage? My cpu is 1.21 at stock. I have it at 1.34 because for some reason my cpu refuses to overclock unless I throw extreme voltages at it. Funny thing is though is that people have my cpu at 4ghz at the voltages I'm running at and I can barely break 3.3ghz. I plan on buying a quad in august maybe a q9550.

After vdroop how much does cpu-z say? There's nothing wrong with giving it more, have you upped the chipset and other stuff? Or decrease the multiplier and try to go purely on high bus speed, make sure the RAM isn't holding you back.

I've played with all the settings to no avail. My CPU craps out and hits a brick wall at about 1100 fsb. Anything after that is unstable with my e5200 even if I lower the multiplier to 9. I can put my fsb at 1250 at 8x and it wont post. If I try putting my fsb anywhere above around 1250 I have to reset the cmos in order to use the pc again. 1.34 volts is what I have it at now, but in bios it's set at 1.38 which is a pretty big drop. I'm going to see if I can do something else to get more speed out of this thing it's driving me crazy.

GPU, WTF, is that a mistype or are you reading the GPU's temp and not the CPU's temp?

I was stating that my gpu is perfectly fine idle compared to my cpu which now idleing again at 50 also. The gou is an 9800GT oc'd 760/1925/1000 and under full load barely goes over 56c. Cpu on the other hand goes as far as 70 now afetr just reapplying as5.

It does that for a little because the thermal paste has to set.

wait if your vcore is around 1.34 I actually think 50 degrees to 65 degrees is pretty normal for air cooling.

MY GPU idles at 45c , 38c when the fan is on 100%

EDIT: Try updating your bios, those temps are all over the place. If they really are 53c (as real temp shows), you're good.
