Hi. I just configured a Lan connection between two computers, and I'm looking for some games that I can play with my g/f. Before I invest in a game, I'm asking your help (if you dont mind :-p ) for potential demos that support LAN play that my g/f might like. My g/f isn't great at FPS gamesbut any demo that's free is a great start. Also, our graphic cards are not top-of-the-line so I'm trying to start with simpler graphics first to more complex later. Once again, any help, suggestions or ideas would be great. Thanks!

If your girlfriend wasn't a gamer before you met her, I highly recommend ditching games and doing something else. She's probably just humoring you. If she is a gamer, and not so much into FPS's, try an older RTS (I like the Homeworld and Total War series, but the controls take a little getting used to for both) or  a driving game like one of the Need for Speeds.

This doesn't take advantage of your LAN, but what I'd really recommend is an adventure game. I've had a lot of fun going through adventure games with friends and family. Even my mother enjoys it. Try Sam and Max for newer demos, Grim Fandango for an older one, or go really old and grab something off an abandonware site.

My girlfriend wasn't a gamer when I met her for the first time, but I managed to educate her. She wanted to know what on earth made me play all these games and rather than to tell her, I let her experience it by herself. She now plays The Sims II, Rome total war, America's Army and she even did a trow at Farcry.

 I'm deeply impressed by both you and your girlfriend. You must both be singular people, because you are the first person I've ever heard to say that.

Well, actually we are both pretty outgoing people but that doesn't mean we don't enjoy games :)
