Mine would have to be killing floor, modded it is the perfect solution for just sittin back and killing zombies with your squad. And this is overall fps of all time, whats the most fun and enjoyment you have had in any fps?

If you had a 50Cal pointed to your head which one would it be?As far as shooting mechanics go, Red Orchestra 2 is the most fun and rewarding. On the whole, however, I had a lot of fun with Stalker, System Shock 2 and Deus Ex. Lot of others come to mind as well. Can't really decide on one single game.

Probably crysis, before i had my gaming pc i wanted to play this game so badly from all the good things i heard. I used to watch gameplay videos and be amazed at the graphics.
But let me tell you, watching it is one thing but once you actually play it you get blown away from the get-go.

:P now that's a perfect game! goddamn i'm going crazy inside.
It's between the original Half-Life and F.E.A.R. games for me.
Both make sincere attempts to weavea story into a basic corridor shooter.
STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl and Half Life 2.SF_KiLLaMaN
Second! Also Bioshock, the first F.E.A.R., Crysis, Unreal Tournament 2004... ummm... lately I've been having a lot of fun with Far Cry 2.
That's a paradox.Half Life 2> THE best FPS ever made.

Lol.Modern Warfare 3, instant classic.
HyperWarlock
Quake 3 I loved that rocket launcher, I much preffered it to css which is realy annoying me at the moment. Unreal tournament 2003 was fun too.
Lol. Wat ? Try playing a real tactical shooter like OFP/Arma2, Raven Shield, Ghost Recon 1 and come back and tell me that.BF3, best strategy-wise fps out there

Since I have finally decided that Half-Life 2 is both the best game I've ever played and also my favourite game, I guess it wins this category. However in terms of "games where you shoot things", Mass Effect 2's combat was the most well-polished. That can't win here because it's third-person. :P
Half Life 2 followed closely by Crysis. The Gravity Gun in HL2 is an incredible weapon that really sells that experience and makes every playthrough unique and interesting. I also really enjoy Crysis...a lot...I have put so much time into that game with modding and making maps that I just can't fathom not acknowledging it alongside HL2.
Straight FPS: FEAR 1, Half-Life 2, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
FPS/RPG's: Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl
