Yeah, interesting you guys are talking about Duke 3D. I've actually been playing it the last couple of days using the free High Resolution Pack update. Doesn't look too shabby...for a game from 1996, runs on Vista no probs (I've tried 32 and 64-bit) and you can even play it coop :D
my opinion ... the battlefield franchise, it has keept ppl playing online for years, including myself, im 2 year in college and started playing BF1942 in 9th grade lmao
Quake 1. It started the true multiplayer FPS experience.And mod making at large. Hell I remember upgrading my 28.8 bps modem to a 33 and going "holy cow Im gaming like lightning now! No one will stop me!"
Also I liked the Rise of the Triad comment. A solid classic there. (triple rocket launcher)

Dunno any good fps, fps genre is boring, i like i think half life 1,blood.. chronicles of riddick was god but i never play this game again but HL i played many times thats is the diference.. im bored of F.E.A.R :/ ... i remember what i like, jedi knight 1-2 bcoz with some little rpg elements . can choose light or dark side and skills, great to play for dark side ,skills ar awsome... dont remeber anymore good fps
I enjoyed and am still enjoying that Battlefeild series a lot.
As for Halo, even though I don't think it was the best FPS ever... becasue I could play with my friends on it everyday, I have definatly spent the most time on that game.
