The Dark Project used the first thief engine, same as System Shock 2, I think you meant thief deadly shadows that has the same engine as Invisble War. Anyway, my best 5 would include:

Um...you're thinking of the wrong game - Thief: Deadly Shadows =/= Thief: The Dark Project - TDP being one of the best games ever, and DS being the worst game in the series.
D-Day Normandy. Originally a Quake 2 total conversion mod..it's now a standalone..and still in constant development. After 7+ years of playertested development, it's gameplay has become ideal. :)
