Hey guys i love MMORPG's but i cant afford ones like WOW. I played runescape for a while but i want to step it up to a funner game. What are some good MMORPG's that have no monthly fee. Just list a few with 1 being the best. Thanks a ton- Ryan

Well let me add something here, I LOVED runescape and WOW those are like my favorite. What games would be similar to those that are free? Im not so much into PvP i like meeting people, trading, going on quest together, andmaking guilds and stuff. I dont like single player RPG, i wanna be with all kinds of people.

Free download, free to play. It's a great WoW clone.

The guild can have their own castles, built by the members:) They'll introduce wars between guilds later, and the loser's castle is destroyed!

It's a brand new game, entered open beta a few weeks ago. They test their servers, ask the community what tweaks need to be done etc. It will remain free once the beta ends.

Have you tried RuneScape since they did the graphics update? imo it improved the whole game experience a lot, plus they've revamped a load of the content.

Compared to the likes of LOTRO and WOW, the free ones are little more than a joke. Little to no pvp, biggest grind you will ever find, lack of quests, etc, etc.

If you're not playing with friends, N/A.

I've tried Runes of Magic and its a poor WoW clone, and sadly most free MMORPGs are too. If you want anything half-decent, you're gonna have to pay for it.

The best you will probably get for free is Rappelz. Otherwise just keep playing Runescape, or try downloading Trickster but keep in mind that is is pretty boring and repetitive.

Oh, well why didn't u say so lol. Try the Age of Empires games...preferably 2 and 3, different pacing but both are good RTS. Warcraft 3 is popular as an RTS also, but I am not sure if that has multiplayer. Guild Wars is a completely free MMORPG so once you buy it there is no monthly fee, as is Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2. Umm...playing games like Monopoly or Scrabble online could be pretty damn cool too, or a trading card game of some sort if they ever make a good one of those. There are a lot of FPS games with online play, but I don't know any right off hand. Halo 2 is on the PC, so you can probably play that online. I hope that helps some.

Either Guild Wars + it's Expansions or Runes of Magic. Personally I would go with Runes of Magic, but that's only because I've played Guild Wars way too much already myself.

I feel like I'm beating dead horse here when I say that Guild Wars is not a MMORPG. It has some trappings of a MMORGP, but it definitely isn't one. There is no persistent world in Guild Wars. There are semi-persistent lobbies in the guise of towns. Guild Wars is more like Diablo (except the loot doesn't really matter) meets Team Fortress meets....well, a MMORPG I guess. It's not a MMORPG though.

First off, why are you naming a bunch of games that aren't MMORPGs? That's not what he asked at all. Second, NWN2 isn't a MMORPG. It can be played online, but it's not massively multiplayer (unless I missed something).

You might want to give Dofus a try. The battles are reminiscent of games like Final Fantasy Tactics, but it is massively multiplayer. Also, it's a game with a rather odd sense of humor, just so you know that it isn't meant to be serious or anything.

have yet to find a free MMO worth a crap... which is why they are free. If they were good, they could charge people for them.
