2 years back? Try S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl. Amazing game. But be sure you patch it up fully and install the Float32 mod for it - the game will crash and lag like hell otherwise.
If you enjoyed the previous Wolfenstein series of games then I would reccomend "Enemy Territory: Quake Wars". Great game with solid and fun multiplayer. It is still heavily populated with servers and players.
I was joking before but seriously the valve complete pack on steam has every valve game ever made for $100. The orange box is like $60 on the consoles. It is the best $100 I have ever spent. It has the orange box, counter strike, CS:S, Day of defeat source, and all the Half life games. Best deal ever!
Call of Duty 4 is the best game for anyone who likes FPS even remotely. It has a great SP campaign, although short, and great MP. Looks good and will last you.
