Just a little curious to what game you guys think had the best menu music...
I thought these games had some pretty good menu music pieces.
Doom3
Quake 4
Prey

Doom3
Quake 4
Prey
CnC3
Tomb Raider Legend
Morrowind/Oblivion's
Resident Evil 4 (For GC... all sounds in that game were amazing)
And surprisingly Guild Wars always has a catchy menu tune thanks to Jeremy Soule.
Divine Divinity has a very sad instrumental/vocal piece that plays in the background that's surprisingly pleasant to listen to. Very mellow and soothing. Actually, you can listen to it HERE on the games main website along with a few other songs.
Then there's the background song for Sin episode 1 one which is a sort of pseudo pop music thingy about guns and stuff... and I can't find it anywhere. Nevertheless it's extremely well done and kinda catchy.
I wouldn't want to name just one, so I'll make a list:
Hitman: Blood Money
Morrowind
Civilisation IV
Neverwinter Nights 2
Call of Juarez (possibly my favourite)
Fahrenheit
Deus Ex
MAFIA - Great song and went for 2-3 mins aswell
FarCry - Cool Tune
UT - Gotta love it
many more I cant think of right now!!!
A few of my favorites:
-Deus Ex
-UT
-UT2003
-Battlefield 2
-Civilization 4 (this song grew on me)
-Diablo 2: LoD
-Neverwinter Nights 2
Republic Commando. I'd be playing it right now if the game didn't freeze while it was loading the first level! :xMythPro1
I'm actually playing that game for the first time now, i'ts quite fun actually. But do you run it on vista? Because i think i've read that game has some serious problems with vista, and yeah the menu music in that one is pretty good too.
Those that have said Hitman Blood Money, which music piece do you guys mean? because as i remember there are 2 different, one that starts when you start thegame and then another one when you quit to the menu from the game, and i kinda liked the second one a lot better.

Nope, I'm still using XP that is what is so confusing about it. I played and beaten it many times but for some reason now the game does not work. *shrugs* I just saw the new Family Guy Star Wars episode and I had this powerful urge to play Republic Commando. Arg.
max payne 2 for me too.
also clive barker's jericho has very good musics from what i can tell from the demo. and not just in the menu.

You mean the one that plays when you finish a level? Yeah, I liked that one more than the main menu music, too.
Adding to my previous list: Max Payne 2, NOLF 2.
i definetly reckon BG and dues ex but i also really like the orchestral theme of Brothers in Arms both of em but mainly RTH30 its pretty catchy i remember tying to waste as much time as possible in the options just so i could listen to it
also if ya rly liek game music y not get game audio player its rly kewl you can even listen to speech and weopon sounds etc
Doom 3 just because it's awesome metal O.oDragonfireXZ95
Hmm, Trent Reznor and a couple other Nine Inch Nails members did the music for Doom 3 if I'm not mistaken. Nine Inch Nails did the music for Quake 1, too.
Call of Juarez had some nice music, but I love most everything about that game :D
I liked the original Halo menu music, as well as most of the soundtrack
I've always liked the music from the Doom games
Some Medal of Honour game had some nice choir pieces to go with it, can't remember which one though. Coulda been more than one.
I also liked the Music from FFX, but that isn't a computer game. Good music still.

Yeah Halo's soundtrack was pretty good. I almost listed it.
My main problem with Marty O'Donnell's work is that it all sounds so similar. It sounds really derivative..not of other people's work, but of his OWN work. He'll compose an original music score, and then many of his subsequent music tracks will be in some way derivative of that original.
I don't like that for some reason.
Edit: Spelling.
