I have been playing online games for about 20 years now and the two best games I have ever played are MechWarrior 2 and Ultima Online (T2A Era). Although there are little to no options available to play MechWarrior 2 against other players, Ultima Online is still alive and well. One of the most significant features of Ultima Online that sets it apart from other MMORPGs is player housing. I have not found another game that has come close to duplicating it. Unfortunately UO has changed so much over the years that the fun factor is pretty much gone. In order to play the game in its prime you have to play on free shards such at T2A Revisited, otherwise your stuck with all of the expansions that took away much of the excitement. The beautiful thing is these shards perform superbly and allow players to continue to experience the game the way It was.
UO is nothing like that at all. UO can be compared to Day Z - one wrong move and you've lost it all. Skinner box games are brain dead and resemble working a minimum wage job where you do the same repetitive and easy task day in and day out, with no risks. Even though Everquest was a grind, you were at the very least punished for your mistakes. If you died in a spot you couldn't reach again, you lose all your gear. EQ's PvE used to make WoW's PvE look like child's play. :P

Some of my best gaming memories are from that game. I remember the giants killing people in oasis that were on the beach afk or dying and having to do a dangerous naked run to get your gear back. I missed Lake of ill omen was my favorite spot.

Never winter nights 1, I used to play that with my friend until 6am in the morning. Sleep for a few hours then carry on. Favourite FPS for multiplayer all-time is probably still Unreal Tournament 1.

Half-Life:Counter-Strike is the best game of all time, there is no contest really. I've played a lot of amazing games; tons of games since the mid-80's. Nothing comes close to CS. Best game ever made in the history of the Earth. If you were there back in '99 before Valve screwed up the game, you would understand what I mean. The community was alive in a big way. It was growing exponentially. The enjoyment lasted for years.
There is no "ONE" best game of all time. Everyone has their own opinion so to say best game of all time is stupid. Just say there is alot of great games.
