best games for low end pc

i'm looking for the best possible games for my low end laptop. upgrading isn't an option since i'm flat broke, neither is building a pc so please dont ask. these are my specs....

i have gta3, cod1, fable the lost chapters. i have cod2 and resident evil4 in the post and am aware of gta san andreas and max payne, far cry as well as total overdose. i'm not a fan of rpg or rts games and really want games that look good, that harness the power of my limited machine and not emulators (i have an xperia play for that)

Doom 3, halflife 2 (the original, not episode one or two allthough they probably run as well but you have to follow the story), quake 4, hitman 2 silent assasin, Red faction, Sniper elite, bloodrayne.

You can also try Tomb Raider Legend and Anniversary although I'm not sure if their graphics will appeal to you.

Get Hotline Miami. Greatest pixel game of all time

Mount and Blade Warband

I recommend as well.

There are so so many but yes it depends what you like.

You should be able to run Far Cry, Medal of Honour series, Battlefield 2, Dues Ex.

I would also try the Steam Greenlight project, there are a lot of indie games coming out that will run on anything (almost)

Faster Than Light, and check out all the Paradox strategy games, they dont require that much power to run.

Bad call. Anything on the Clausewitz Engine sucks RAM and will probably crash after a few turns. Either that or it will become unbearably slow, to the point where a day of in-game takes about 2 minutes IRL time (even on max fast-forward). I speak from unfortunate experience.

As others have stated, your best bet is to pick among the flood of indie/retro games. Most of those require nothing and could probably run on a pocket calculator.

too bad u dont like rpgs and rtss cause ur pc can run probably the best of both .. but anyway these games might not necessarily look good but they are extremely fun ..
