I have a 2.0GHz Dual Core, 3GB Ram and a 7100 GeForce. BioShock works on low settings, so listen:

I am searching for the best PC games made in 2006 and before, all would probably work with my computer on at least low settings. I found Elder Scroller Oblivion, and already have Dark Alliance for Xbox. Any good FPS's or RPG's? Nothing else would really be good, puzzles no, racing no, sports no. All on PC 2006 and before.

Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is better than Oblivion, but a little dated now. You can get all sorts of texture mods to make it look better, though.

I'd also recommend these...

Shooters: FEAR, Call of Duty 1, 2, and 4, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Dark Forces II, Half-Life 2 and Episodes, Portal, SWAT 4, Far Cry, Doom 3

RPGs: Baldur's Gate II, Planescape: Torment, and of course, Morrowind and Oblivion

I suggest the Half Life series or STALKER: Shadows of Chernobyl

Far Cry is your best shot. FEAR is also excellent.

While I doubt you will, you could try some RTSs - for older ones, I'd suggest Age of Empires 2, Red Alert 2 and Rome: Total War.

You really need to upgrade your car; I have a similar Rig with just an 8600 GT instead, and I can run most games at medium to high details. As for recommendations: 1. Max Payne 2 2. Rise of Nations & Expansion 3. Warcraft 3 and Expansion 4. Call of Duty (original) 5. Medal of Honor Allied Assault

Thief3, Bloodlines, AvP2, Freedom Fighters. And yeah, just upgrade the videocard since your rig is otherwise okay even a low/mid-range card would give you a nice boost.

Then why did gamespot rate Morrowind 8.3 and Oblivion 9.3? I'm going to get Oblivion. Better graphics, longer story line, more features. Yes, Morrowind is so out dated it could almost work on my old pentium 2 motherboard. My computer deserves a challenge, and a better game.

Don't discount Morrowind because it is older, that game is very good for it's time IMO and you can mod it to improve the graphics. There is a mod called MGE or Morrowing Graphics Extender that needs your graphics card to run, so your relatively newer technology isn't wasted like you think. A lot of people prefer Morrowind over Oblivion because they think Oblivion is simpler and geared more for console players. Morrowind with mods is highly recommended. Deus Ex, Baldur's Gate series, Warcraft III & Frozen Throne, Diablo II & LoD, Jedi Academy w/mods are more examples.

If you are a FPS fan I would recommend Team Fortress 2 hands down. Ive been playing it since the release for a year and a half now. Its available on Steam for 20 bucks which is a deal you cant beat. A good reliable site to learn more about TF2 is www.tf2pro.com its got some cool vids and how-to's and stuff. Enjoy!

With your hardware, you'll probably be able to run Team Fortress 2 on a mix of low and medium settings. Go buy it. Now.
