I was looking at all the gaming keyboards, and the Logitech G11 or G15 look like good ones. Any other good ones I should look into?

My choice would be the G15. Its one of the best gaming keyboards I have used and it has all the key features you should want out of a keyboard...And more...

I have a Saitek Eclipse, and I really liked it for about 5-6 months. Then the w a s d keys rubbed off, the l-crtl key started sticking and the backlighting barely works anymore. The backlighting was the main feature I bought the eclipse for, since I have mine in a keyboard drawer under the desk. I'm thinking of buying either the Logitech G15 or the Razor Tarantula.

I just got my IBM Model M on my doorstep today, and I don't see myself using anything else for a long while. No, it doesn't have an LCD screen, macro keys, backlighting, or anything fancy like that. However, the buckling spring design feels nice(at least to me; you may not like the feel, nor the "clicky" sound it has), most of the keycaps are swappable(you can even get clear ones so you can stick pieces of paper with game commands or whatever under them!), and it's so durable it'll probably outlast your computer-maybe even two or three of them. I just looked up the Razer Tarantula that everyone's mentioning, and it has some interesting features like swappable keycaps, macro keys, and supposedly being able to press up to 10 keys on the keyboard without having some of them just not work because of interface limitations. On the downside, I don't like the Ins/Del/Home/End/PgUp/PgDn key block rearrangement(the new layout will screw with games like MechWarrior 2 and Freespace that bind functions to those keys), and it doesn't say whether it uses a typical rubber dome arrangement, a Model M-style buckling-spring "clicky" mechanism, or something entirely different for the keys.

Use a program called Everest Ultimate. It has a feature that allows you to set up how your LCD reads things from the program, whether its temps, clocks, usage, etc.

there are some really sweet Keyboards out there i own 2 original blue G15's its the ultimate for work and play with all my tool presets for adobe mapped for work then there's simple chat command lines for team fortress 2 that makes it great it really shines at night like now this message is being posted in the dark :P

POO POO THE NEW G15 IS LIKE A DIRTY RASH! TINY DISPLAY 1/3 OF THE MACRO BUTTONS

the next best in my opinion is the Saitek Cyborg is next best sturdy built an all
http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/keyboards.htm

and if space is a problem the stylish DKTBoard from Everglide is really comfortable to use its a little harder to get then the saitek but its supposed to be a little cheaper

Why do you think that? I would give my left nut for that keyboard, mainly for gaming.

Well, I'd personally reccomend the Zboard. That's what I have been using for the best couple years now, and it's amazing.

Insane or not the optimus, with each key potentially programmable macro + image it has the ability to be the ultimate designer/developer tool but at that price ill stick with my G15 not many around and places that still have them i saw one for AU$75 at "GAME" snap-ed it up too handy to have a spare but also the Cherry MX series key-switch (Mechanical switch keys) in the Gigabyte GK-K8000 makes it quite appealing and at roughly $110 all its missing is the display from the g15 and it would be bonza

I personally dont think most "gaming" keyboard are worth it. I think its just a gimick. My friends try n show off their G15s off to me. The only reason I would consider buying a gaming keyboard is for the backlight. Helps at night with all the lights turned off. But other than that im still going strong with my logitech wave :D

I'd throw another vote for the Zboard. I bought it mostly for the butterfly keys which make playing fpses much easier. Though the plastic feels kind of cheap, mine has held up very well and the key spring response feels good. At 40-50 bucks, it's a good bargain.

Whatch liquids around a Z board. Only a tiny splash or drip can kill it. Quite seriously, thats why I switched over the a G 15. And the backlite. As for the reduced macros on the new model, that does not bother me.

LOL...DUDE! The Razer Laycosa is the worst keyboard out there...NOT the worst gaming keyboard...the worst keyboard ever made!!!!

Over 80% of the Laycosa owners had this problems with it:

Touch panel dosent work

Lights dosent work at all or the light is too weak

KEYS STUCK!!!! - 50% of the Laycosa owner have this problem after a couple of months...in fact Razer admited that MT0803xx MT0802xx MT0801xx MT07xx are not working at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And if you search the web you will see that the MT09xxx have the same problems...

I have a Razer Lycosa also...but a couple of days ago keys beging to get stuck, caps lock is not working touch panel dosent work etc...

I will never buy another Razer product in my life...they make the worst gaming keyboards and mice's.

[QUOTE="GamingKeyboards"]Hey there. There are many great gaming keyboards out there. The question is just what will you need it for. Have you got any experience with programmable keyboards for macros. The G11 is a great keyboard and so is the G15, I owned the G15 (well I still do somewhere), now I own the G19. But I have been working on programmable or should I say with programmable keyboards for years now. If you don't want anything too fancy, check out the G510 or the Saitek Eclipse Backlighting keyboard (not programmable). I hope this helps you. If you still not sure, check out http://www.keyboardsforgaming.com. All the best gaming keyboards are reviewed there. Take care

Not too sure what's worse. That you are advertising your site here, or that you have a site dedicated to talking about "gaming" keyboards.
