Try newegg. They have great deals. There generally is no 'best', it is more like what you are looking for in the laptop.
For 700 is a bit hard to find something decent but for 900-1000 you can find laptops with the 9800M gt or the mobility radeon 4830 or something in the lines of that that will be good for gaming
Notebook graphics card table
Look at this table you should look for cards that are on the low-mid end of c lass 1 ( up to the 9800M gt) that will be good for gaming yet affordable

Competitor. ibuypower.com
select the 320GB 7200 RPM HDD and the 2.8 ghz Dual core CPU with 6MB cache
it will top off the same price. difference is that this one has the 9600m GT vs that one with the 260
Edit: still a good find. the one i posted I forwarded to a friend but i might show this one to him also

Congratz! That is a good buy!
laptop and game? Together? rofl!!!Dr_Brocoli
its fine for somebody who is not hardcore and wants something portable. I have a laptop for school and it has a discrete card in it and it runs games fine. But then I have a desktop for main gaming.
I just picked up a acer aspire 5739g from newegg for $799 and I love it. I can play crysis on high with no aa. I can play fallout 3 on high with 6x aa. Cod4 maxed, red alert 3 maxed &farcry 2 maxed. See specs in my sig!

thing is, usually when people ask for gaming laptops, they want to do hardcore gaming on it, hence the gaming laptop. Id rather have a cheaper, faster pc, and ill still be able to sit in the comfort and game in a nice big chair. Does portability for gaming matter THAT much? I cant see gaming anywhere else all hat often to warrent a purchase of a gaming laptop. Plus, they run hot and you still need to plug them into a wall!I consider a gaming laptop something with a decent discrete card in it so that you can actually "game" on it. Hence "gaming laptop".

I'd rather buy an awesome $600 desktop and a real cheap laptop with a good battery. I really don't need to play games everywhere I go.Please Log In to post.
