I currently have a Samsung T240 24" and want to change monitors. The colours are way too drab.

Any suggestions to a good monitor in the under $300 range would be appreciated.

Really? I wouldnt expect that from a Samsung. I've got a 23" Samsung SM2333HD (its a TV/Monitor combo, cost £235 which is around $400 so its a bit steep) and it looks sublime. Very vibrant colours.

Ya, let me know on the Dell. I am looking now at the S2409W.... hmmmm. I looked at the Asus in the store near me and they are nice but not sure they compare to the Dells that I have looked at.

For gaming, I think it's better to get a 16:10 (1920x1200) monitor, but if you watch a lot of movies, I suppose 16:9 is better.

Overall, I'm very satisfied, as long as you sit in front of the monitor colors are great, no ghosting, no lag, no dead pixels, no bleeding nice and easy menu...the only thing is: I thought it would be bigger...viewing size is 12''(H) and 21''(W). I'm not sure but I think 24'' monitor using 1920X1200 are bigger than 24'' monitor using 1920X1080. So if I were you, I would keep your T240, or go with the asus VW266H (25'5 '' at 1920X1200)...Of course with dell, you get awesome quality monitors and superb costumer service. Knowing that the viewing size of the st2410 was that small, I would have probably waited a bit to get more cash and bought the U2410

I ended up getting the S2409W. I like it better than the T240. It is more "widescreen" than the T240. Its 1920 X 1080. The colours are pretty decent and works good with games.

Benq V2400W

Not sure what they cost now but you should be able to get one for about $300, Looks awesome and has HDMI.

Only thing i don't like is the touch panel controls, they are totally awesome at the start but can be a pain when you use it in the dark and they are not quite as precise as they should be.

Next time you want to buy a QUALITY monitor make sure its not a TN panel.

I own a T260HD and I am also not too happy with the quality compared to my 19" Viewsonic. I am however very happy with the price I payed for it. $350 for a 26" 1920x1200 monitor thats sufficient for gaming. A 26" IPS panel monitor would cost something like $500-600.

I love this monitor because its so damn big and cheap. You get what you pay for. I suggest you keep that T240HD. I know the whites and blacks arent the best but you can spend the money on something else.

agreed also 16:10 is better for general use.
