I'm going to be purchasing an Alienware gaming PC soon(don't give me the lecture about how it's expensive, the monthly payment is the only way I can do it, not to mention build my credit for the future). And I was wanting to buy a monitor, nothing crazy like 30 inches...just a good 20-23 inches, preferably LED and REASONABLY priced, nothing 350+, 300 might even be pushing it. Please help.

Hello... Spending a lot of time gaming means you'll need a decent monitor to do it. It doesn't just have to display a good picture, but it has to provide quality and a decent amount of frame rates in order to be considered a good gaming monitor. I would like to suggest you 2-3 monitors :- 1. HP2511X which is 25-Inch LED monitor. This monitor is sweet!! Great looking on your desk or table, solid and well constructed, very well equipped to work with a variety of input connections, very easy initial set-up, wonderful, high-definition images with excellent color characteristics. 2. ViewSonic VA2702W 27-Inch Gaming Monitor. This is a great power saving monitor having the ECO mode which saves up to 35% power. It has a 3ms response time and is capable of full 1080p HD resolution. There are standard DVI and VGA inputs so you can set it up right from the box. 3. ASUS ML248H 24-Inch LED Monitor.Another great thin monitor is this ASUS ML248H 24-Inch panel. It is ultra slim and will most likely fit perfectly pretty much anywhere. Also, it comes with full HD 1080p resolution capability and with nice LED touch sensor buttons.

Talking from a perspective of having spent myself 870 € on a Dell U2711 just a year away I'll must say that "best gaming monitor" and "under 350$" doesn't fit thogether at all.

First, allmos all sub-400 $ displays are made with TN panels, instead od MVA or SIPS panels, which means that they code the RGB in 6 bit x channel format instead of 8 bit x channel as the other ones. It also means low quality colour gamut, mediocre contrast and small angles of view. the only two good things of TN displays are 1) they are cheap, and 2) they are fast so achieving 120 Hz to obtain 3D gaming at 60 Hz is easy, but in terms of quality any SIPS made display from Dell, Apple, Nec, etc. will wipe the floor in terms of "best gaming monitor" compared against cheap TN alternatives.

Alienware and Asus are maybe the best TN choices for 3D gaming (Alienware is itself a Dell propertie from a few years now), but I'll still choose SIPS over the 3D gimmicks.

Don't buy Asus PA238Q is all i can say. Very good image quality, iPS but light bleed is pretty much guaranteed. Ultra Sharp is the best but it also has lots of light bleed problems.

I've got an Asus VE247h, it's LED and around 24", I like it a lot but there's a little bit of ghosting. If you can deal with that it's pretty nice and relatively cheap.

ViewSonic VX2250WM-LED 22-Inch Gaming Monitor with integrated speakers is the good choice for any gamer. It offers Full HD 1920x1080 resolution, 5ms response time, 10,000,000:1 MEGA Dynamic Contrast Ratio, digital and analog inputs and integrated stereo speakers. Further the display is extremely bright, having very sleek design and the contrast is perfect.

I use an ASUS VH242H, great picture and it's probably pretty cheap now.
