The best one is the one that feel's comftible in YOUR hand, how can we tell you that?

Go to a PC store and try out a few ones, take the one that feel best in your hand.

DPI should be atleast over 1200, but most important is the feel of it, that is my recomendation.

The best gaming mouse (for me) is the G5 rev2 (which has 2 thumb buttons .. wow!). All the others are either too flat or too massive =) My next one when this one dies will be a G500 which is an improved version of the G5 rev2. Oh and yeah, DPI matters. You can instantly see the difference between a standard mouse with 800 dpi and a mouse with 2000 dpi. The 2000dpi mouse will move around much smoother and be much more precise. Oh and if you're a leftie, don't bother with a G5/G500 - Made for right handers only unfortunately.

I completely agree here. Buy whatever feels good. It's difficult to enjoy a computer game when you can concentrate on nothing buy how annoying the shape and feel of your mouse is.

I'm loving the Razer Naga, 12 extra buttons for your thumb and surprisingly it doesn't take that long to get used to it. I don't like the 2 "extra" mouse buttons on the top left side though, but I guess it's ok. It isn't too big or too small, just fits right into my hand.

Razer.. good for gamesfsinz
Terrible for drivers.. And yes, it depends on your hand. Look at the G9x, the G5, the SideWinders, and yes, if you really must, tread carefully around the Razers.

Many people say it's the Razer Mamba. To be fair, I'd rather buy a new GPU for the money I'd give for this mouse. I tried it and left surprised that it wasn't that good. It's too expensive for what it gives. Personally I prefer the ASUS gaming mice much more. And they are like 50% of Razer's prices.

I have a 518 too and wouldn't even concider another mouse. It's like what has been said, it's about comfort and functionality for you personally.

yeah, that + laser. personally i like my G3. nothing more i need from a mouse. i also use Logitech wireless M515 for anything else than gaming. it sometimes freezes for a split second when gaming with it so i can't use it for that. propably some wireless connectivity issue.

For a gaming mouse, I think they're essential as you can configure the amount of reports, various dpi settings, program your buttons etc. For a regular mouse they are totally useless if you ask me.

It's all opinion based, there is no 'best mouse'. State your requirements and then someone may be able to reccomend you one.
