As far as singleplayer goes, I'm going to stick with Crysis. The gunplay feels so tight and smooth. Your character is so functional, mobile, and powerful that you feel like some sort of superman as you're sprinting towards Koreans and knocking them off a cliff like bowling pins by simply running into them. The Koreans are so fun to fight. It's hilarious seeing them **** their ****s when you uncloak right in front of them and you see them run away and trip over each other. There's a constant switching off between short-range and long-range gun fights, which keeps things fresh.
In the multiplayer department, Red Orchestra 2 brings WW2 back to the forefront. Forget every other WW2 shooter you've ever played, killing Nazis (or Russians) has never felt so satisfying. Forget the crosshair, sprinting head first into battle, or surviving more than a couple of shots. The deadzone in this game feels really, really good. In a way, it really feels like you're swinging these weapons around and trying to hold back the recoil. Sneaking behind enemy lines and flanking groups of people and mowing them down with a single clip from your weapon is awesome. And so is hearing dead soldiers gurgling up their blood while laying on the ground.
