I have heard that MLG will not allow you to bring wireless headphones to events? I am looking for headphones for FPS primarily. However having said that I play every genre from strategy to MMORPG, so I need headphones that are comfortable to play for hours when necessary.

My main competitve games are shooters (Gears of War, Call of Duty, CS:GO, etc) I want headphones that give the best situational awareness and I also would prefer headphones that don't pinch the ears. As the sticky said, some headphones cover your ears entirely so those seem like the best option.

So currently I like the design of the A40's the best but I heard that the turtle beach is more programmable and that the wireless features are unmatched. I don't want to disregard other companies like Tritton so any and all advice welcome. Thanks guys.

Read the FAQ and learn that the headphones you mentioned are bad.

Honestly I think you guys need to read the FAQ..

"it is important not to give excessive credibility or to preemptively discredit a headphone based solely on its brand"

It doesn't say anywhere that astro A40's are crappy..."Surround sound is really meant to be experienced in an open room, not attached to your head. I hope this helps. You can read more marketing doctrine from Dolby at their web site, if you'd like."...also I want a headset that has a built in mic.

Astro, turtle beach and Tritton make bad headphones, it's that simple. You will get better sound from good quality headphones and a separate mic.

Astro doesn't make bad headphones; in fact, their A30 was endorsed in Head-Fi's Summer Buying Guide. Happy Gaming, Boz

A40s for over $200 is quite the rip off, they may sound good, but for 200 bucks you could do so much better.

What I meant was bad for the money, should have clarified that.
