My dad is tired of having one less keyboard than computer in the house hold, so hes getting me a keyboard.

I like the look of the Microsoft Sidewinder x6, and its $100NZ or $75US, but having never used it, Im not sure whether its any good. I don't want to have him spending any more than that on a keyboard.

What are some good keyboards in the price range?

The Logitech G110.

I haven't used the X8 so I don't know about that, but Logitech makes great products.

Logitech K350 Curve

Is it comfortable for playing games? I probably should have specified that that it would be the main use. I just assumed those curved keyboards were more intended for offices etc.

The lay-out takes getting used to, but once you're past that stage, it works just fine.

I was going by the price he gave, $75 USD.

I was just using the 75 as more of a standard. I know most people use newegg (I use it to scout products).

For price finding in NZ I tend to use www.Pricespy.co.nz

It compares prices from a bunch of places. You just gotta be careful of choosing the stores.

The Logitech G110 is $109.99 here

Its only 10 bucks...

Well, since its purpose is gaming, I'd go for the G110 then... although the Sidewinder 6 has the better looks for less money...

Sidewinder X6 is a nice board and a good purchase - it's only problem is you can't get it to raise to an angle for better comfort

(obviously because of the magnetic detachable numpad thing)

Have a look around for a cheap G15 Keyboard though, have seen them going for 70$ AU new on eBay so should be ~ $100 NZ

v1 is older - looks slightly uglier (EDIT: MUCH UGLIER LOL) (different backlights / shape / screen) and doesn't have USB2 ports.

I'd be surprised if anyone still sells v1?

Edit: just checked pricespy NZ and yeah the v2 is definately worth the premium over v1.

Otherwise really depends whether the G15 v2 Screen is worth 20$ to you (vs the x6 Sidewinder which is nice), useful for displaying temperatures if you overclock or CPU/GPU/RAM usage levels etc
