But i am lookin for rpg games.. name something other titan quest/never winter nights / dungeon siege /diablo just because i have played them. But i love them so something like that for me that ic an get .
For co op thanks
Some of these suggestions don't make sense, lol.
CoD 4 has no co-op at all...
HellGate london doesn't allow lan play, only online
i think the topic was for lan co-op games, no?
If you're playing multiple long sessions, id say neverwinter nights. Even better if you can get more than one buddy to play with you

Issue 1: Don't dig up 6 month old threads
Issue 2: CoD 4 does have co-op...just not co-op campaign (any online team game can be interpreted as being "co-op"). Otherwise, you can scratch off pretty much every FPS game (only a handful have campaign co-op).
Issue 3: If you're going to discriminate against Hellgate: London for requiring an internet connection in order to play co-op, then NWN is guilty of the same offense (you still need to query the master servers for LAN games...no internet = no co-op multiplayer...at least, that's how it was when I tried to LAN it a whiles ago).
Agree with Swat 4, except we always end up tasering each other and not the enemy. Also the occasional point blank shotgun to the face of a restrained terrorist. But hey its our lan so we can do these things eh?
Our fav games that have survived test of time:
Ravenshield + Mods - had some seriously fun times, especially as co-op
Quake 3 - the demo is 50 megs and runs on any OS and has bots. Great way to get the lan started and work out nettwork etc without long setup time.
Starcraft- this is probably recognised as the best RTS ever and is cheap
CS: Source - not my fav by the way
Other good ones - UT2004(bots and mods galore)
COH - awesome game but the other guys aren't really into it
If you like flying IL2 and Lock-on are incredible if played seriously in co-op
Counter Strike, Company of Heroes and WoW! Surprised WoW was actually fun to play at LAN's.
Left 4 Dead should definately be good once it's out too!
omg you are in the same position im in. i just got the gateway fx and now i have 2 powerfull comps and i was going to LAN/coop mercenaries but that ended up being a disaster game with no LAN support. and i didnt want to buy two games.great topic. Well I have a copy of quake 3 arena. I have like three computers, so I want to do a LAN. How do I go about doing this with one copy of the game?voneric85
Just make sure they are all connected to a router. You may or may not have to turn off your firewalls. Make sure you can see each other in the network area (im not sure what OS you are using). Have the game installed on all the computers. Boot to game. Pull Cd out. Boot up other computer to game. Pull Cd Out. ect. Click LAN and create a game. Join the game with the other ones.
Hello guys,
I found this topic when I was browsing this site for some LAN-Games and it has been very useful, thanks.
Some of the older LAN-Games were very fun, but we both really like the AI in NextGen-games.
My roommate and I both have a High-End gaming PC, so the new question is:
What are the best co-op LAN-games, regardless of any system-requirements?
Games we are already playing in multiplayer:
[QUOTE="Koal_Jadian"]call of duty isn't co-op
Hellgate london doesn't support lan

Issue 1: Poor baby. This is a topic with merit to a rather large demographic. It's easier to re-poste than to create a new thread.
Issue 2: No. CoD 4 does not have co-op. It is not advertised as having co-op, there are no modes for co-op, therefore there is no co-op. I don't know if you understand what co-op is, but CoD 4 is not it. This is doubly true when you consider that the original topic asked for two-player co-op games. You can't play CoD 4 co-op with only two players, no matter how you look at it. Get over it.
Issue 3: It's not discrimination. Hellgate: London doesn't play LAN games. The original query was for LAN games. NWN is capable of doing just that. You are incorrect, by the way. I don't even own NWN, and a rudimentary search on Google told me that the Internet is not necessary for LAN games. Yes, the game will attempt to gain access to online servers, but once it discovers it can't, it should proceed to allow offline LAN play. Do your research next time before you mouth off; You only end up looking like a jack***.

I'm aware of that the topic itself is from 2008, and that this reply was posted 20 december, but if the question is still is active, or anyone else wonder the same, definately check out Left 4 Dead 2! It's the best team based multiplayer game I have ever played. Playing with friends on a LAN or just online with voice communication is incredibly much fun.

Just to end the pointless fight over hellgate london, the online play got terminated like .. 2 years ago ? so bottom line HGL is unplayable period!
