Best monitor around 400?

  Alright, so i have about 400 dollars to get a new monitor with.  Im looking to go as big as i can without sacrificing quality.  I would like to stay with a good brand like samsung or acer.  Anyone have any suggestions?  I was looking at something like this maybe?   http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001309

 

also, what are the main things to look for when buying a monitor?  I know that i want the 1920 res, but what else is important, and what are good numbers for that?

i have a 22 inch Westinghouse monitor that cost only around 250. Great quality, 2 MS response time, 1680 by 1050 res. If you want the best deal, go with that.

I know I saw an Acer 24 in monitor 1080p with HDMI hookup somewhere on Bestbuy.com. If you look on Bestbuy.com you should find the one I am talking about. it cost I believe around $350 or so.

At 24'' i've heard good things about BenQ and LG, i hear Samsung LCDs are overrated, crap blacklight bleeding.

Where did you get that idea, have you ever used a high resolution monitor, yes you want as many pixels as you can get when working on a computer.

Where did you get that idea, have you ever used a high resolution monitor, yes you want as many pixels as you can get when working on a computer.

I thought you can only notice a difference with a 1080p if its 40" +

Depends on the person and distance really, i went with 22'' for 1680*1050, i don't want to pay to run games maxed at the native 19*12 on a 24''. Also on a 24'' everything on the desktop will be really tiny :?

It depends on how far you sit from the tv (google screen size chart and that will show you what I am talking about), and if you hook up a computer, you have more space to work with higher resolutions, so it is better.
