I am in need of a new mouse, i am debating between another MX518 or a Razer Death Adder. I have been using logitech mice for most of my pc gaming career had 2 G7's and lost the transmitters twice so wireless mouses arent for me i travel to much. Also i really am interested in the mamba but im not gonna spend 125 bucks or well cant atm. So between the two Death Adder and the Mx-518 which is better. I have used the Mx 518 i have been thru 2 of em, there great mouses but which is better.

What do you guys think.

yep i say same death adder is similarly to my razer mamba that i spend 143$ for it tax include / shipping : but il be using that mamba for the next incoming 5 or 7 year hopefully ;) it very good sensation on the palm of the hand : the difference in mamba it work as good as wired as wireless no latency issue / browsing issue with the mouse : the point follow you'r will as long you set a good dpi. for me i go from 1550-1800-2500-5000 dpi (the 5000 is for quick navigation)

MX518 I have been in a very similiar position to the OP. I have been through 2 MX700s (the wireless version of the MX518, and 1 model down from the G7 wireless mouse). Both lasted just over 2 years, but both failed because the docking station stopped charging it. I moved onto the MX518 - the wired version of the MX700, and identical in shape and size to the G5 and G7, so getting used to it took no time at all. The only thing that you may want to consider is the G5 - the laser version of the MX518 - so would give some higher resolutions, but that is only an issue if you need to go above 1600dpi.

yes since it a high end optical device (not laser) so the optic thing does work sweet on surface like Exact-math / Destructor

While laser only go well on Cloth & Aluminium surface for optimal quality such as Aluminium surface of Steel Series : you know ? because it is not acting like a mirror so the laser can focus and track on the thing at last it what i being told

i keep heard of people who ad Laser mouse they ad poor issue with Exact-math of Razer Product but no issue with SteelSeries Aluminium / simple cloth pad & tissue

But we are talking of high-end optic so it go well with almost all surface from what i heard some are better how ever

yea bro, i have the voodoo edition of the razer deathadder, tip download the newest drivers, the ones on the cd arent all that good.. not for me anyway.

but yeah the deathadder is amazing. it is very fast and responsive, though i must warn it can wear your hand out if its a small hand. my gf has small hands and she had to go with the razer diamondback. i dont have small hands so it is not a problem for me, the clicking action on it is nice, and it has a stiff wheel(which is nice). if your thumb is average length or bigger then you will have no problems with the 2 side buttons. they can come in handy.

I had the Cybersnipa Stringer, g5, and the mx518. CyberSnipa was undoubtedly the best, but I had it break 3 times on me... Maybe I got unlucky. Newegg did a free trader for the Razer Lachesis, and the grip isn't very good, but astroundingly I never get cramps from it, something the others mouses always gave me. It also has a precise feel to it like the CyberSnipa, something the g5 and mx518 didn't have.

iv hold a bunch of razer / Logitech mouse interface at Canada computer : the Lachesis / death adder /Logitech G9 /side winder X8 : Logitech Revolution MX

Mamba difference is only it dpi-switch & laser 5000dpi & wireless/wired mode with no latency it cost high but so is Logitech G9 / Microsoft Sidewinder X08 In Canada and from my grip method ather the mamba over the two other : even tough they are probabely VeRY good mice if i was to master another grip method br
There mouse for Every Grip / Hand holding but i ain't specialist in study of gamer Enthusiast mouse preference ;) Some will say G9 is much better then Mamba some will say mamba is much better then G9 as of now i aint' deceived to have replace my crappy mouse with that i got finally the grip i asked of a mouse yet iv waited 4 year before make the step..

and the Death Adder is about same as mine same ergonomic feeling which is like sweet to the hand it very smooth but the difference is just less DPI (1800 / Different Tracking Device (high end optic) & Wired

since all gamer i play with and that i know are Right hand player / left hand for ASWD/keyboard so they prefer death adder over the Lachesis : even tough it ambidextrous design the mouse it just not quite the comfort for the palm of the hand grip method but there several way to control a mouse it depend of people taste. but from people review & my touching on it at a store. it was not Quite i was like .......

But it up to you if you can't touch / return them if you don't like them : then it may get harder : if i wanted i could have get Resfund at 98% for my mouse since i pay for restocking fee :P but it was so good so i didn't return it have it for like 5 month as of now it just so good :)

Mamba is good but be warned, the battery life is crap, It literally last around 14 hours at max.

True but you then swap the mini usb and get quick into action with wired mode. it annoying but the mamba is like the both of best world but of course the topic Creator doesn't have such money. but then i again just coment on my product & the death adder there very similary i can tell it just about the dpi switch & wireless mode & laser that change them

I also have a Mamba...If you have $130, go for it...Its the best wireless gaming mouse there is...If you dont have that kinda money, a DeathAdder will be fine...The only real difference is that the Mamba is wireless and has super high DPI that you will prob never use.
