I was just wondering what would be a fun 1st person shooter with good multiplayer and replay value. I played UT04 for about a year and a half but now im tired of it. Im considering Battlefield 2142, Hlaf Life 2, or Doom 3. I like the more unrealistic weapons and stuff but modern day is fine to. So pretty much all I wanna know is which is the best.
Team Fortress Classic is kind of future team based game. Capture the flag pretty much. It's not like counter strike at all, it's alot more speed based, it's very good and can be bought on steam. I don't remember how much it costs, but it's worth it. There's different classes to choose from, such as Sniper, Medic, Heavy Weapons guy, Soldier, Engineer, Demo Man, Scout, etc. It's very fun once you catch on to whats going on!
whoa...Team Fortress Classic is a olden...It's a gooden..but an old one...
if you like strange weapons...quake 4 is a good choice..d3 isn't very fun in mp....very small..q4 isn't much bigger, but its a lil better...
wait for quake wars to come out...that'd be good for you...Team Fortress 2 is another choice...just like the guy said about classic, but with a new cartoony look...looks good though.
also hl2:mp for all the mods to play...MP isn't so good by itself. CTF mod...source forts...zombie master...insurgency..you get like 10 games for 1...
More of Personal prefrence then anything. HL2 is always fun. Counter-Strike Source. Battlefield 2142 if you want larger scales. GRAW2 (Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter) Rainbow 6 Vegas ----- A (360 -> PC)Port and kinda dead so If you really want it go for it, its "so so" but Fun though.
Well other then those cant think of anything. Or of course wait for games like BioShock, Timeshift, Crysis, UT3 etc... to come out
Counter-Strike. When you were typing this post, you clearly didn't bother to do a little research before you asked what is the "best online shooter"? If you've got a good rig, Counter-Strike Source. If not, the original is fine. Get it. Play it. Love it. It is the one online shooter that never, ever gets old.
In my opinion Counter Strike 1.6 is simply the best 1st Person multiplayer game ever made. I've been playing it forever and it seems like i never really get tiered of it. Gather som friends, make a clan, work out some tactics, do a lot of training and go pro ;)
the other posters are right out of every multiplayer shooter I've played (and I just about seen 'em all) the one I keep coming back to after all these years (5+ and counting) is counterstrike. It just does not get freaking old. Sure after an all day marathon it can kinda burn you out, but unlike other games I can play this one all day and still be able to come back later and enjoy it just as much, over and over again.... CS 1.6 is definitely the most competetive/intense, but the Source version is still pretty fun. I still always come back to 1.6 though cause no online shooter yet has matched it's intensity...
