I'm considering in jumping ship and buying one of these silly toys that lets you surf the web on to go with ease.

I'm not really pro and i've done my share of looking around with EEEs and HP mini's lenovos etc.

I'm just curious if GS users have any anticipated netbooks they are excited for or netbooks they already have
and don't regret purchasing :) opinions?

I'm not entirely sure I'd actually purchase it but the new nokia netbook looks very promising. It has a very rugged design and 12+ hrs of batter life. http://conversations.nokia.com/2009/09/02/more-nokia-booklet-3g-specs-emerge-at-nokia-world-09/

Well they Dual Core Atom CPU's have just started appearing so it wont be much longer before they get put into a netbook, also getting an ION based one would be a good idea for general speed boosts.

Asus, Gigabyte, Intel, and a few others are on the right track with their netvertibles (netbooks that also happen to be convertible Tablet PCs), but they all completely screwed up on the implementation by having no active Wacom or N-Trig pen (the latter of which is also paired with a capacitive multi-touch digitizer), Windows XP Home rather than XP Tablet PC Edition at the very least, and price tags STARTING at US$500. That last one is a real killer, because used Tablet PCs with active pen digitizers and much more powerful hardware can easily be found for 500 US$ or less. Let's see some Atom Pinetrail + N-Trig (or Wacom + Synaptics 10-point capacitive multi-touch if possible) + Windows 7 Home Premium + long battery life for no more than 500 US$ already! (I know, wishful thinking, but I still really want it to happen somehow.)
