COD4 is pretty in for sure, lots of activity and good competition, i am addicted personally, its replaced ut2004 for me.. ill probably go back to ut2004 eventually after some time off tho, yes i left out ut3 on purpose.
1) CoD4 for activity, Battlefield series for extreme amounts of fun, TF2 for fun and activity 2) Warcraft 3 for activity, fun, amazing, awesome, best RTSism of all time.
I'm a tad bit more old school 1) No one lives forever 1 and 2, system shock 2, Deus Ex, Bioshock, COD4/5 and BF series for online 2) Homeworld series and Sins of a solar empire
