Send me your Email address and I'll send you a wish list from Newegg with all the parts you need for $1000. It will be able to run everything on high NP.

first recomendation, get a grounding strap... that will keep you from frying parts. second decide these two things, what processor, and what graphics card do you want. those determine your mainboard. tell us that and we can help you go from there. some people have preferances, like intel or amd, and ati or nvidia. personaly i go with amd and nvidia. but you might like amd and ati, or visa versa, what ever, just decide those and go from there.

http://tools.corsairmemory.com/systembuild/report.aspx?report_id=12472&sid=1

the first ones kinda old but its a real basic video that should get you started after that read he 2 picture guides there a bit harder but they will help also remember that you have differnet parts so some things are going to be different like when there prepping the case your case is going to be different and stuff like that

For a $1000.00 Price point , I would say perfect. Definatly last you awhile and can play crysis on High with no problems. Only thing I can really offer is that if you plan on never OC"ing then you might not meed the Arctic freezer.

Thanks. that question comes up a lot so I have a few builds prepped on new egg for people that ask this kinda question. Makes it easier to so they can actually see the parts ect... Also , on the arctic cooling freezer 7 pro. I left it on thier incase he does decide to OC one day , which usually people want to try after they build thier own Rig.

Is 30$ more than Corsair and OCZ, I don't think Crucial is that way better than Corsair and OCZ

Its definately a great build for the price, but you'll need an operating system if you don't have one lying around.

It comes with a $30 rebate, so $40 after rebate ain't bad. I have done quite a few crucial rebates, and they have to be one of the fastest at getting the check back to you.

While Crucial ain't leaps and bounds better than Corsair or OCZ, I would still pick them first. You do know the D9's everybody wants are made by Micron, who own/are Crucial. Also that's the tracer RAM with LED's on it, man I love 'em.

I don't see much if any reason to get Vista (I'm not a XP fanboy, just sayin') so i guess get XP.

The wishlist in your newegg, is excellent, all solid choices, but i may have opted for a corsair PSU like a 450 VX or 520 HX.

Stick with XP for the time being, better gaming performance than vista.

No , not as good as the 8800 I gave you in the wish list. That card is ok but the 8800 is better by a bit. If your looking to lower the price a little you can take the Freezer Pro off the list i made for you and get it when or if you decide to Overclock.

Get this HD 3870 instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125086

XP Home 32-bit OEM can be had for $90: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116056

Main thing i would change in that build is the PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004&Tpk=550VX
