INTEL Core2 Duo E6750 2.66 Ghz, 1333 Mhz, 4mo cache

INTEL Core2 Duo E6850 3.00 Ghz, 1333 Mhz, 4mo cache ( my bet is this one is the best, am i wrong ?)

INTEL Core2 Quad Q66002.40 Ghz, 1066 Mhz, 8mo cache

Also, what's the difference between Core2 Duo and Core2 Quad ?

And is it better to have 1333 Mhz and 4mo cache OR 1066 Mhz and 8mo cache ??

THX

I would get the Q6600, quad core is pretty awesome.

Core2Duo=2 cores

Core2Quad=4 cores

The e6850 performs better for games, the q6600 performs better for everything else overall, the e6750 the cheaper of the three.

The three are great choices, but i would go with the q6600.

When you say the E6850 is better for games, isthere a noticable difference with the Q6600, or is it just superficial?

well the Q6600 might last you longer since more and more games will start to support it like crysis but no there isn't a huge gap of performance I'd say not even 2 fps. I'd says Q6600

Since you asked, the faster the FSB the better it is, since more data can flow to you CPU as for the cache, it is basically the same in both case, they both got 2mo of L2 Cache per processor

Hum thx, do you know if COD4 support the Q6600 ? With a Q6600 + a 8800 GT i should be able to run COD4 with 60 fps minimum ?

also, a dumb question: duo 3Ghz means 2 processor of 3ghz each, and Quad 2.40 means 4 processor of 2.40 each ?

Well with this setup yes you will run COD with 60 FPS depending on you resolution and yes quad 2.40 mean 4 processor at 2.40 each

thx a lot, one more thing and i stop bugging you.

Right now i have a p4 3.2 Ghz and i play old games like HL2 and Cod2. Obviously, thoses games don't support a q6600, so will i get worst performences/fps, considering thoses games will use only 1 of the 4 2.40 Ghz, so only 2.40 Ghz vs 3.2 ghz now . .. .. dunno if im clear . ..

No because the architechture of the Core2 is far superior to the Netburst (or pentium 4)one. Still you will use all the 4 core, but not as efficiently as if the game was designed with 4 cores in mind

A 2.2ghz core 2 duo is a lot better then a P4 3.2 ghz

well, But still, for the current games ( cod2 cod4)the best processor, from the worst to the best are : P4 3.2 --> Core2 Quad6600 2.40 ---> Core2 Duo e6850.
