I want high quality sound over features, do not care if they are wired and will need to connect directly to the system as I have no head unit. Also do not care if they have a Mic or not.

Turtle Beach dpx21s are amazing. Great look, comfort, sound, and chat.

Im torn between either the ad700s or the HD598's either of which will be connected to an Astro Mixamp. I know the 598s are twice as expensive but let's pretend for a moment that they cost the same for the sake of a simpler argument. 'Im more concerned with which wouod be better overall and not so much the best bang for buck.

The AD700s are probably the most comfortable pair of headphones I've used, which is important if you have a big head (like me). They sound beautiful, but lack bass: I personally wouldn't use them for game for this reason, but there are thousands of satisfied owners. I have yet to try the 598 (tried the HD202, 555, and 595s) , but haven't worn a Sennheiser yet that I liked due to their high clamping pressure. It's always like my head is in a vice. Regardless, I'd buy them over the AD700's. I personally wouldn't buy either for gaming. For gaming I prefer a punchy bass, clear audio, and the isolation afforded by closed-back headphones (both the models you listed are open-back). Given your price range I would recommend either the Audio Technica ATH-M50 or V-Moda M-80, depending on how you want them to fit. Good luck, Boz

I really like what people are saying about the DT880. Would be willing to go to $300 if the praise is warranted.
