here are my pc specs:  Dell Dimension XPS Gen 2: P4 3.0ghz w/800mhz/ht technology, 1024 mb @400mhz memory, ATI 128 mb 9800 pro graphics card, 19"Acer widescreen.  I am not ready to buy a new pc quit yet.  Would I be best upgrading to 2gig memory or a new video card?  If video card, which would be best with my specs?

Boy is the bold in your post killing my eyes. But yes, I would upgrade the video card over the RAM. Even though, everything needs upgrading except your CPU and your monitor. Upgrade your video card and then, upgrade your RAM to a faster speed and better timing, you don't really need 2GB as of now, unless you have Vista Premium or higher.

If you have the money, why not upgrade both? RAM for $100, and Video card for about $200 tops...
