Best RTS Coming Soon?

Dawn of War 2, no question.

Dawn of War is in my opinion the greatest RTS ever made, and CoH shows that Relic builds upon what came before in a fairly significant way. DoW2 should be spectacular.

World Shift? I think I'll look this up...(but if it's not that cool, then I'll come back saying "Switch this with Empire: Total War!!!)

Anyone think EndWar is going to be terrible? I mean, it's built for consoles first...a God Damn RTS, that is built for consoles...FIRST...Ubisoft, that is treading on Hollowed Ground right there... Same with Halo Wars. The reason I say this is not because I'm some Fanboy, but because -

Maps are going to be TINY, probably not many units, and it will be an incredibly "simple" game that even though it's got the cool voice commands thing, I doubt will live up to todays RTS games.

Anyway, it's a tie between Starcraft or DoW 2, but I think I'll pick DoW 2.

Anything by Tom Clancey is EPIC WINZ. Like the highly-rated Vegas for PC.Ps2stony

I, obviously, gonna have to say RA3. Just read the article in the april edition of PCG and it sounds soooooo bad @$$CnC_Freak

I read it, and still think RA3 will suck. Same thing with Crysis; you heard so much about it, all the graphics and gameplay, and when it came out, it just didnt fulfill promises. Same with WorldShift preview, it sounds awesome, co-op dungeon raiding RTS - and yet, I have strong faith that it will come out mediocre. RA3.. Well, you look like a super fanboy, so cant argue with you or even have a good convo.

Startcraft II, probaly, unless DoW2 has Tyranids, but Ive played DoW so much Im sick of the W40K universe for now, a man can ony fight the relentless green oceans of orks for so long before the insanity of the warp begins to call to him.....errr....so yeah Im looking forward to Starcraft II more than Dow2 right now, sucks that its still a year or so away.

I may be a super fanboy, but I at least have the balls to admit when one of the games In a series I love sucks. Like the new 'Tiberium' FPS, its going to suck, I know it. But on the bright side of RA3, there gonna be holding a Beta, meaning the balance will be more fleshed out on release :D

on a side note, I quite enjoyed Crysis >.>

Starcraft 2 by far. Red Alert 3 will be worth buying and I love EA games, but I will definitely play SC2 a lot more.

I actually agree with this crazy statement, at least I thought I was crazy for thinking it. The Dawn of War games deserve a lot more credit than what get, and in modern times, is probably the best Franchise in RTS gaming out there. Yeah, by saying that it doesn't mean I'm not gonna love Starcraft, but it has a lot to catch up on. Relic's been dishing out happiness consistently for a long time.

With Soulstorm coming out I believe next week, the series is on fire, and then eventually DoW2, who could complain? This looks like it's going to be yet another great year for RTS's in general. Josh (forget his last name) from Relic was on GFW Radio last week and stated that another Comany of Heroes is in the works, but couldn't go into details. A modern based RTS in the vein of CoD4's world? That would be simply amazing.

I played Worldshift last week, it wasn't bad at all. They have a beta sign up over at Fileplanet.

BTW, how could endwar get any votes at all? That shows there are a few trolling the PC forums as usual.

Oversimplifications are fun.

But yeah, Starcraft II by a mile. As much as I respect Relic and their ability to pump out high quality RTS games, their community support (Tournaments, proper mod support, events) is barely there and their ability to balance their games is lacking.

Both SC 2 and DOW 2 will be great. :)gogators4life
