Hey guys, I have a new computer and wanted to get a good real-time strategy game.
Perhaps you could name your top three that go back to 2004.
Please don't mention Warcraft III. I don't like it.

^ thanks.
Also, what is better, the Command and Conquer 3 or the Red Alert 3?

Yeah, you should try the demos.Do you think I could just get a brief synopsis of them?
Red Alert 3 easily.^ thanks.

Could you just give me a brief overfew or a gist of them?
What are the key differences?

Just more creative?

The game is more fun to play, the units are very interesting and unique, it's got great humor, it has a co-op campaign. And for lower end systems it runs much better than C&C3, also better graphics. And did I mention that the chicks in RA3 are so damn sexy?^ thanks.

If you are familiar with CnC series games, CnC3 is based on Tiberium universe. Red Alert 3 is based on as usual alternative history path.Age of Empires III and its expansions, Warchiefs and Asian Dynasties. This is a must. gfk17400
Yeah, I played the hell out of Age of Empires II when I bought it 8 years ago, loved it.
I wasn't sure if Age III was any good.
But seriously, both CnC3 and RA3 aren't exactly the best RTS to come around these past 4 years. Sins of a Solar Empire and CoH are up there, and DoW2 is also very good

I've never played a Warhammer game; is it a lot like Warcraft?
I don't really like Warcraft at all, the art style and the game, I've played a little WoW and never liked it, so can I expect to not like Warhammer in that same vein?

i have never played a minute of any Command and Conquer game in my entire life.
I have no idea what I would be getting into, though the verdict seems to favor Red Alert 3 over CnC 3.
Is anything about CnC 3 better than Red Alert 3, or can I just rule it out as a choice?
So if the choices:
-Dawn of War 2
-Red Alert 3
-Age of Empires 3
-World in Conflict
-Sins of Solar Empire
-Supreme Commander
What would you say are the top three of those?
Which would be your number 1?
1) Company of heroes (should be on any list. play the demo at least and you will see) 2) Sins 3) AoE III or Red Alert (leaning more with RA) You can find all three on Steam as well. Best way to buy games IMO.So if the choices:

I'd say Dawn of War 2, Sins of a Solar Empire, and something else - probably Red Alert 3 for the campaign and the production values. My favourite is probably Sins, because I am a fan of space combat and stuff like that, and because Sins is a very high-quality game from a critical perspective, although Dawn of War has been very fun in the beta and is a lot more action-packed than Sins.
So, Sins for slow-paced space-exploration RTS game and epic space battles. Dawn of War 2 for in-your-face action and sweet ground combat.

Company of Heroes World in Conflict dow 2Company of Heroes, Sins of a Solar Empire, and Medieval II.Jd1680aSame, except for me it's 1) Sins 2) CoH 3) Medieval II All VERY close. Medieval might be eclipsed by Empire, though, which looks friggin epic. RA3 and Supreme Commander are both solid choices, too. DoW2 might find its way onto the list, but I haven't played it so I can't comment.

na, they are way different, dow is way more gritty, lots of explosians, guns, rocket launchers, tanks , and GORE XD[QUOTE="fatzebra"][QUOTE="ZacherWol19"]Dow 2 is coming out soonjeezersDoW 2 doesn't deserve to be called an RTS. 3 man squad cap, with no base building. Not even close. 3 man squad cap... wat are you smokin, have you even played it? o , and ya base building sux. NOOB ALERT!!Please dismiss comments like that

I would say, DoW2, CoH, RA3.
My choices would be:
Company of Heroes: Outstanding RTS, it's in my oppinon the best 'traditional' RTS out there.
Total War: Medieval 2: Massive strategy game. It's not purely an RTS, rather you have a turn based empire you manage while battels are fought in real time. Unlike most RTS's it handles real sized armies up to several thousand soldiers on each side.
World in conflict: Modern day (or at least 1980ies) setting, awesome visuals and a fresh approach to the genre makes this a great and engrossing game. A bit ont he short side for the single player campaign though.
Other contenders:
Supreme Commander: RTS ona large scale. You can handle a lot more units and maps tend to be a lot bigger. It takes some getting into (at least it did for me) but once you get the hang of it, it does a great job of putting you in charge of a major conflict instead of minor skimirshes like most RTS's
Command and Conqure 3: The ebst part of C&C3 is that it manages to recreate a sense of nostalgia. It dosent try to reinvent the genre but isntead embrases it roots.. buils you base with ltos of defenses and spam massive groups of units .. rush all over the enemy. A bit on the simple side but a lot of good old fashioned fun.
Sins of a Solar Empire: I found that the lack of a single player campaign somewhat killed the game for me, but it's a solid game.
Company of Heroes, World in Conflict, Dawn of War and Sins of A Solar Empire.thusaha
Wow... right on the money!
sins of a solar empire is also really good. If you are into the whole turtling slow paced, build up your economy and fleet, then this game is for you.
If you're looking for an all out action fast paced high micro-management then pick out company of heroes, dawn of war/exp, C&C 3, red alart 3
i enjoy playing all those games
