Best shooter on the PC to date?!?

Cod 4, Orange box, Bioshock, unreal tournament

what is wrong with you people CoD4?? I mean come on it's a fun shooter but what does it really add?...I would have to say a close tie between Crysis,Battlefield,Orange Box and Bioshock...mechwarrior_bob

good lord get over CoD4 already... it was depressing linear, entirely scripted, spectacular for about an hour, until you realize it's entirely uninovative. Multiplayer was fun too until you realize how shallow it is.

I would go for Crysis, Bioshock, or HL2 + episodes.

For me, it goes:

1. Crysis

2. Half-Life 2

3. No One Lives Forever

4. Jedi Knight 2

5. Jedi Academy

On topic though. Unreal Tournament and Half Life 2/episodes. I also enjoyed C&C:Renegade, and MOH:AA. Although some would most definitly disagree that Renegade was a good game, but I had alot of fun playing it online.Av177

They play differently. Also, forgot to give BF2 a shout out too, one of my favorite online shooters.

To date? The Orange Box/The Halflife series. No game has, imo, come as far as it has in actually incorporating the player into a game. Not to mention that it has the greatest multiplayer community and mods ever.

Crysis is number two for me though, with the Jedi Knight series at three.

Actually, it's not made by EA. It's made by 2015, a number of the employees of which went on to form Infinity Ward and create the Call of Duty series.

I don't know, but 2015 only worked on the first game in any case (MoH:AA and its xpacks, Spearhead and Breakthrough). After that, everything MoH was done by other studios.

I can't pick just one shooter. There are too many great ones. If the game is part of a series/franchise, I'll just list my favourite in that series..

You see, a good shooter will be fun. CoD4 is a good shooter because its lots of fun.

A great shooter, however, is both fun and innovative. That is why Halflife, STALKER, and Crysis are great shooters and Quake 4, Doom 3, and CoD 4 are only good shooters.

BTW Crysis actually has a good multiplayer even though many over look it.

Also Frontlines fuel of war is very origional in my opion and with a patch or 2 could be one of the best shooters out in a very long time

and ya, Crysis multiplayer is great if you ask me, but only if the teams are balanced. Soon as one team gets an edge its very tedious for both sides.

Thats good to hear about Frontlines as well i was thinking of picking it up but all i hear is how bugged it is.
