CPU is overkill, and X1950Pro or 7900GS is your best bet for a single slot card.

Thats a fantastic CPU, how could you get such an amazing CPU and pair it with intergrated graphics :P As for a single slot video card Id wait for the 8800gt.

8800gts 640mb with liquid coolin... 560$... it is going to be expensive for single slot card...

i showed this expensive one because your cpu is no bs and i would expect you to be looking for high end gpu..

possibly, but thats just needless bother when he could get one that was designed to be single slot with less risk.

I'd be a pretty weird case that can't fit a dual-slot graphics card but can fit a watercooling system.

How is the 2600XT with 7.10 driver?Big_Black_Eyes

dude you processor is so amazing that any card below 8800 or hd2900 would bottleneck... those are the cards you should focus on... unless all you do with your computer is type papers and surf the web... then your gpu doesnt matter, you wasted your money on your processor, and you have no computer knowlege at all...

Video cards don't bottleneck processors, only the other way around.

The best single slot cards currently are the water-cooled 8800s, or the 7950GT.

The X1950Pro and 7900GS are next.

aren't you the guy that said he had a "pentium 4 Extreme edition" up to 6ghz yesterday?

its in the hardware section, called "6.0 Ghz Pentium 4 with HT."

your posts are laughable if u say that you have a QX6950 on the 11th and then on the 15th talk about a P4 xtreme OC..

in fact i didnt see many posts from you after people were asking for proof.

Umm that shouldnt matter at all. Cpu sits atop the pci slots, the cards second slot it takes for the cooler is downwards, i dont understand what your problem is?

why would you need that processor then, nothing requires that much processing power when graphics are not involved...

...not all of those, and alot of the ones that are you dont need more then a 80 dollar graphics card, since when does music editing and rendering need a high end graphics card.

oh, and as i said before, an 8800gt if you can wait or want dx10, or a 7900gs.

if it says SLI it works on its own, but it also has the ability to be paird (if motherboard supports SLI) with a card of the same kind to run together.

and to 9mmSpliffs comment, ah...just read it all agian, he has a 1500 dollar processor, running with on board video, and aparently is running it in a case that doesnt have 2 slots avialable......

the only system that comes close to tri-sli is mac pro... but that doesnt really count because its mother board which also hold several processors... is actually several motherboards combined...

Actually Quad FX from AMD comes close and its Quad PCIe slots. There is also the 680i chipset that has 3xPCIe slots and a couple ATI chipset boards currently have 3 PCIe slots (i.e. DFI LANParty icfx3200).

The new 780i from nVidia runs tri SLI and the new 790 chipset from ATI runs Quad and Tri Crossfire. Those boards are going to be released within the next month. For nVidia only 8800gtx and Ultra will be running in Tri-SLI and only on the 780i chipset
