I've enjoyed quite a few single player campaigns..
Age of Mythology
Warcraft 2
C&C Red Alert
Duke 3D
STALKER
Condemned: Criminal Origins.
Mount & Blade
Call of Duty series
Medal of Honor series
Half Life
Morrowind
Funny, no one mentioned the "Game of the Year" Bio Shock....?
Dont' get me wront i am not recomending it... not to impressed...
Real-Time Strategy:Red Alert 2 and Dawn of War.
First-Person Shooters:Blood and Crysis.
Role-Playing:Baldur's Gate Series,Gothic Series,Deus Ex and Fallout Series.
Action Adventure:Dark Earth
Other Strategy Games:M.A.X,Heroes of Might and Magic Series(Not the fifth release) and Europa 1400 Series.
Call of Duty 4... Very intense!
Crysis... Overall, it's very good!
The Witcher... Very good story!
GTA... A variety of different missions!
Tom Clancy's R6 & SC... I really enjoy the series except for DA!
I'm going to go with recent ones I've been playing since it would be too hard for me to list my favorites over the past years..
Swat 4 - The AI of your squadmates is great and with the random placing of enemies on each map the replayability is nice
Oblivion - Lots of freedom and imagination
Dawn of War - The insane spectacular battles are what makes it shine and they only get better and better as you progress and get better units like vehicles and such
um is it ok if i say half life 2(i played it on the xbox and loved it)...........
i enjoyed deus ex except for the last few levels.they felt rushed.
max payne was truly an experience to behold.i love that game.
monopoly tycoon.dam this game was addictive.(while it lasts)
warcraft 3 including frozen throne(surprised no one else mentioned it)
i know this is pc thread but i liked mgs(got the pc version)
just got grim fandango yesterday(its really nice from what ive playe so far )
maybe doom1( i only played the first part of the game......that came as a demo.it was great.best and biggest demo ever)

So? Out of that list only MGS3 isn't on PC, Mass Effect is coming this May
Anyway, he didn't say best Single-Player Game on PC, just Best Single-Player Game
[QUOTE="fireandcloud"]that question for me is the same as asking 'which is the best game,' and that would be front page sports: football pro 95.thusahaFront Page Sports? I really miss that Sierra's franchise. I loved Front Page Sports: Golf.
hey, i missed this reply! a fellow front page sports fan! nice. i liked the golf one too. it was the first that used the vertical mouse thing, which tiger woods series copied. great innovation; so much better than the old 3-point click system that the links series implemented (though i'm sure they weren't the first).
Sorry guys for replying to my own thread for so long. I had a long overdue vacation. Other than UT and CS on LAN, I mostly play only the single player campaigns. Lately I am feeling that the recent games don't provide me as much satisfaction on completion like say a Starcraft, Warcraft 3, Max Payne, The Longest Journey or a Prince of Persia. I haven't played a game in recent time which has enraptured me like the aforesaid games, like when you can't think of anything else. Do you also feel that the recent games don't give as much focus to single player campaign as it used to be, or I am the only one?shariq166
yeah, multiplayer is becoming the primary focus, it seems. unfortunate, that.. but there are some really good single player games around as well, so i'm not losing sleep over it as of yet.
stalker, cod4 (short but sweet), bioshock, crysis, f.e.a.r., half-life series. of course, rpgs are great for single player experience.
and so many great games coming out soon that are bound to have great single player, like starcraft 2, rage, dragon age, stalker prequel, far cry 2, project origin, etc.
Call of Duty 4... Very intense!

The Witcher... Very good story!

3. Mass Effect
4. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
5. Indigo ProphecyDarth_Kane
i looooooooooooove metal gear soooo much
[QUOTE="NamelessPlayer"]Star Control II has probably been the most satisfying single-player experience I've ever had. Deus Ex would probably have more replay value with the three different endings and all, though.bawathegamer
well you just had to save before the end........and see one ending......load.....do the other task.....see another ending etc etc.i saw all the endings back to back.
but the game has replay value for the depth of its levels and upgrade choices.such a sweet game.hated the last 2-3 levels though.
Really? I never actually got to the end; I made quite a bit of progress, but my old PC then decided to not boot properly, necessitating a reformat. Then again, it's a good excuse to play through the game once more, and actually finish it.1. Half Life
2. Fallout 1 & 2 and Fallout 2.5 : Brotherhood of Steel.
3. Half Life 2
4. Neverwinter Nights 2 & Mask of the Betrayer.
5. Call of the Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth.
There are a few more I guess, but those ones stick out in the obvious realms.
