BTW if you are asking so that you have info on what to get i would strongley recommend you build or buy another system 939 is out even AM2 will be replaced by AM2+ but that will happen maybe 1 year from now.

The best 939 processor is any that you can find. They are scarce. I could only find a X2 4200+ @ Newegg.

I have my 4200+ (Manchester) OCed to 2.61Ghz very stable. I am playing all the big titles on it at this speed, Crysis, Bishock, WiC, GoW, etc. It is totally stable and has never crashed. Because the faster s939s are hard to find and the 4200+ Manchester OCs so well it is the one to get.

I'm using this cooler with it and its great - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835185125

It's not the X2 4800, it's the FX-60.

Ya I don't know why people are mentioning those. You can find an FX-60 on eBay. There still pretty good processors so if you can get one cheap enough, go for it.

The Opterons are the best----most easy to overclock, and the cheapest. I would look into those before buying anything.

Agreed. I have my little Opteron 165 (1.8Ghz stock) at 2.6GHz stable and it's running like an FX60 at stock and E6600 C2D at stock, according to benchies and CPU mark. And I got it for 100 bucks months ago.

Well AM2 will be compatible with both socket AM2+ and AM3 processors..
