I'm using the thermal paste that came with the CM 212+, is there anything better out there? Or would it even make much of a difference? My temps are perfectly fine right now, no complaints with the 212+, just wondering if something like Artic Silver 5 paste would help a little more.

Thanks!

There are a number of good thermal pastes out there like IC Diamond, AS 5, MX2 etc. But you aren't likely notice a big difference in temps. The difference would only be a few degrees maybe 5 at the most between the high end TIM and what is considered to be good TIM. You could reapply your TIM and see if it helps. But if your temps are good for your overclock then don't worry about it.

Multiple studies have shown that the brand of thermal paste is relevant, but much less so than proper application. Pick up almost any paste from Arctic Silver and you can expect similar levels of performance (within two to three degrees, Celsius). There can be a material difference, but it is typically negligible in real-world applications.

Good luck,

I read a review about thermal pastes and they tested about 30 or so type of TIM'S, the conclusion was that any top tier TIM that anyone recommends is within 1-2 degrees C of other top tier TIM's. One surprising fact was that the TIM that comes with the prolimatech megahalem is one of the best( not the one that prolimatech actually sells), since I own the megahalems I tried it and is very good did not have to buy any TIM (was thinking to buy IC diamond also for GPU)
