Best Time to Buy from Newegg?

Hey everyone, I am looking to build my own PC in the near future, and was wondering what the best time is to buy from Newegg.ca in terms of sale, clearance, promos, etc.. I know for buying prebuilts Labor Day and Christmas time are really good, does this hold true for custom rigs as well, or are there better times? I'm not talking about when is technology the best, as it is constantly being updated.

make sure you are subscribed to their newsletter, ther offer every better deals throught them. Other then that, i haven't lived through a full Egg year, so i have yet to see the sites behavior (concerning deals) in all seasons.

As far as parts for computers go on Newegg, every single day there is some kind of deal going on. Getting things free with the purchase, lots of stuff ALWAYS has free shipping. Instant discounts and rebates are constant. Usually during the holidays they have extra special deals, but they don't typically effect computer parts as much.

As some have already mentioned, Newegg runs sales on different items daily. Sometime you will see something with free S&H, an instant discount or a MIR and these can often change on the same item from day to day. So if your in the market to purchase something and you know what you want, try and track it for a while and see if there are any price fluctuations. But I generally find the best time to watch and buy is at the end of the month. Price breaks tend to get a little better around that time because they want to push as much merchandise out as possible to make month-end figures look good. Also by subscribing to the Newegg news letter, you receive what the 'Daily Deals' are and additional promo codes that can save you extra cash.

don't believe the hype around newegg. the deals are only great for the people who live in the states. stores like canada computers (have their own webpage at www.canadacomputers.com) have much better deals in term of not only in sale price but also delievery charges. Then again, occassionally you can find one or two good games from newegg.ca (for example, the 4870x2 price is good when they offer free shipping)AzNs3nSaT1On

some parts hare are cheaper but nweegg.ca has a much better selection and will sell you at least slight aged stuff. they wont even sell you a 3870 or any pci cards on canada computers..

also if you people need a nice place for old parts try computerfrontier.com this ship to usa and canada and though are a bit pricey sell alot of the better pci and agp gpu's along with single core cpu's and older memory too. jesus they even sell hd 2900xt and the VERY RARE hd 4670 (pci)

well i built my pc last black friday on newegg, and i save hundreds...but other than that i have had the newsletter for a while and there are deals almost everyday...but black friday so fay has been by far the best for me

whenever a good promo shows up or free shipping when I built my pc newegg.ca just opened so they had this this off to take offer for $15 off each product bought

Okay everyone thanks for the help. Newegg's S&H costs kill me, adding on about an extra $80-$100, so I'll definitely look into those other sites. Well, seeing as how there are no real advantages to waiting for a huge blowout sale event, I may look into purchasing a rig as soon as I have enough money from my summer job. Either that, or wait until late August when more games are announced with their system requirements (definitely getting SC2) :)

once you have money il look forward to help you ish27 ud have to start with a budget around and see if you expend to get better or spend what you said we will go in process to speak about what monitor resolution ur gaming at first : it the first thing you must know :

if you will game at 1280x1024 / 1680x1050 / 1920x1200 then you must find benchmark which show you result within such resolution which i have perfectly assimilated :D : you don't need to over-expense on gpu if you at 1280x1024 / 1680x1050

As from my experiance the best you could find is Shop around ur area such as Canadacomputer if you in ontario : or ncix.com / tigerdirect / newegg.ca offer or you can buy from 2-3 different Website if Example : ncix give you the computer case for 25$ shipping instead of 45-50$ somewhere else that i could find

when it come to shipping cost the only part in pc that is heavy weigh in shipping are the Powersupply & Case : Everything else is so Light-weight Ncix.com usally never charge you more then 30$ for over 25LBS of Stuff and i ad like spend over 1000$ of stuff in shipping : it where i bough 75% of my part : the rest was in-store cause they ad better price & no shipping cost

How ever my Father bough a BenQ E2200HD at 220$ tigerdirect.ca (2$) shipping 2 day after it come and i was like nice :D i'm the one chosed it tough cause it was the Lowest Cost monitor that display higher then 1680x1050 : 1920x1080 complient monitor that is what he asked 22-24 inch

while i spended 320$ : Samsung T240 Rose black : i wanted higher quality :P

I'm basically looking for my rig, whether it be this or one with different parts, to last for a while, and then upgrade a few years down the road, one part at a time. Games I play/will be playing: CSS, COD4, Modern Warfare 2, TF2, SC2, Bad Company 2, Sims 3. I was thinking of going quad-core, but I don't know if my budget would fit that in well (once again, my budget isn't clear yet, so quad may very well work into it), and I read that this processor OCs well without any cooling. I'm not looking for a fancy case with amazing lighting, and I have extra storage so 320GB is the max I need for an HDD really.

Now, here are my questions. If I go quad-core, should I go with Intel or go with the Phenom II series? I will probably overclock it, and will not get any cooling or whatnot, so I would need to take that into account. Also, what are good brands for PSUs and cases?

Dude a Intel G31 ? Do you have a ide ahow bad motherboard it is comparet to daoy that going to be cheap in performaces get ur self P45 :S
if you can't now you should save moeny and get that : Like a Gigabyte UD3P / R : ul get about 7-12fps extra with a single card from G31 to P45 : specially if you overclock ur E8400 at 3.8 / 4.0Ghz

Corsair are Much higher Quality then OCZ GameXstream : even tough that corsair don't make there psu else then the box with fan : it a brand who made it

and ur ram are quite bad compare to standard i think they are 5-5-5-15 instead of 4-4-4-12

shame you dont live in the same province as me (ideally same city too) cause they got this sweet safepower 780watt for $90 here at a local retailer. its all shiny and and has two case fans. ive used one before in my younger brothers budget build ( a 450 watt) and it runs like a charm. my one issue is that its a little loud.

yeah he live at st-johns it a expensive country in shipping and i don't know if st-johns as any shop rivalizing with Canadacomputer.com they do have Two shop in ottawa and the one at merivalle is a giant compare to the one at rideau :P

mm i live in central canada and my local retailer sells alot of safepoer psu's for cheap they have decent cable length and are all distinguishable by this gold colored casing of all there psu's they ran quite cold but are a little loud. my one issues is that they lack the significant long cables of there equally wattaged competitors. like that 450 watt would barely go over my gpu and into its slots on my mobo. (via that route) and going around was tough (mainly due to the size of a 3870). so yeah there great for microatx/standard atx case but for atx tall or btx it wouldnt make the grade.. just an opinion though.
