Looking for a pair that is sub-$150 and connects to PC, 360, and PS3.  Preferably wired since wireless is typically awful.

I have the Sennheiser PC161's which are quite good. You would have to buy something like this to use it on consoles though

i have got some Turtle beach px5. They are really good. You can do something about 8 pre-set and you can set your sound as you wish if you download the program and plug your earphone on your computer.

Just tried the whole Turtle Beach line they have set up at Gamestop and am not very impressed. My A40's sound far better. Not saying my A40's are excellent headphones and I plan on selling them off to buy something else to use with my Astro Mixamp but they sound far better than Turtle Beach. That's the problem with headphones that are made for consoles though (Turtle Beach, Tritton, etc). You are paying a lot based on gimmicks and marketing spins. Not for good actual hardware.

I assume you don't want virtual surround? At that price, such a feature is going to be hard to come by.

Less than $150, and yet capable of connecting to all of those? Something like a Recon3D USB or Mixamp is going to eat most of your budget, and that won't leave much for headphones that don't suck. (And as for headsets...if they're not the Sennheiser PC360 or maybe the Beyerdynamic MMX300, I wouldn't bother.) I suggest saving up a little more. Try to get to $200, at least. That'll help a lot, albeit still not ideal 'til you hit $300.

I know this is a month late, but I have also been searching for a universal headset and I have found one that seems to be very good and only about $80. Here is the link: http://www.walmart.com/ip/CTA-Digital-U.S.-Army-Universal-Gaming-Headset-with-3D-Effect-Universal/19886802

Lol, 2 birds one stone, looks like the Army is trying to cash in while trying recruit you subliminally or perhaps blatantly.

3 drivers in a cup, 16ohm impedance, it's not shaping up well :P
