Hi,

My buddy just built a PC almost exactly like mine but without a dedicated video card.

Because he got a brand new 450W PSU he does not want to change it right now.

He wants to spend like 100-150 bucks on it.

I thought of the 4850, because it's a low power consuming card and quite closely comparable to the 5770.

What do You think?

Please share You knowledge.

HD 6850, GTX 550 ti, HD 7770 will all run on a 450w PSU depending on the quality of the PSU. I would go for the HD 7770 just to be safe and they have now dropped in price so that's a bonus. That said if the HD 6850 is anything more than $10-20 cheaper then I would get the HD 6850.

depending on the PSu brand ( quality one or not ) your best bet would be a amd 6850. AMD 7770 almost performs the same and has much lower power requirements but its more expensive than a 6850 and falls just a bit short of 6850 performance

Tell your buddy to make up a story to take it back to the store and get an exchange for a real PSU
