Best Virus Protection?

So I've finally decided I'd be willing to pay for a virus protection software rather than rely on the free avast or AVG. However I am having trouble figuring out exactly which is the best.

What Virus scanners do you guys/gals use? What do you recommend?

Im a big fan of Kaspersky internet security. It does a great job and is pretty cheap

The best form is to fill all your computers ports with expanding builder's foam so absolutely nothing can get in. Not connecting the power works well too.
