All I like to know about the best war game is this...
1. Most accurate (vet opinion) in damage, physics and interactions.
2. Most realistic weapons (vet opinion) (kickback; close to far range; weapon jams, etc.).
Not very interested in showmanship, hype or mass appeal, just those those items as I'm seeking the most realistic wargame for a change.

medieval 2: total war
RTS game, just remember a patch because it can crash otherwise, but with the patch is brilliant, only other problem in requirements, 11GB of space and you need a very good garphics card
Although unreleased, I think Alliance: The Silent War is shaping up to be in the running for best war game ever.
Seriously.
Spanning 90 years and 3 continents with 200 real world weapons?
