I bought a new 21inch lcd around April and since then its getting kinda smudgey and spotty (idk how considering I never touch it but I do have a d-baggish brother who uses it and my dad as well)

What kind of liquid would do the best to clean the screen w/o doing any potential damage? It's a plastic screen so I'm kinda hesitant to use any harsh glass cleaner on it.

Plastic screen? As in it doesn't make waves on the screen when you touch it?

Don't use glass cleaner at all, even if it does have a plastic surface. Use LCD wipes, or go over it with a dry microfiber cloth.

If it's actually plastic, water and paper towels would suffice, but I still would stick to LCD wipes/microfiber cloth to prevent little hairline scratches.

soft cloth and water apply a small amount of water to cloth and not directly on the monitor. lcd cleaning kits usually just cause headaches so avoid them.

You can find them in the form of a canister of pre-moistened wipes, which are very easy to work with.

It does make waves. Feels like thin plastic over LC obviously...

Go to an electronics store and look for premoistened LCD-safe wipes. It should do the trick.

I've never heard anyone describe it that way. Anyways, just take any ol' cloth, put water on it, and ring it out so it's a little moist but there's no excess water. Then wipe down the screen with that.

I just get a paper towel(bounty), and just get it sort of wet and wipe it all good. Then get a dry one, no science behind that :P

Water and towels. If you do make scratches, which you shouldn't unless you decide to run your nails over the screen for some reason, there are both elegant and non-elegant ways to fix the scratches.

What do you mean? Thats what the screen is right? Liquid crystal pressed under thin plastic....
