I'm not sure I would agree with these. Mainly Far Cry 3. After Far Cry 2 I personally have no interest in another Ubisoft-developed Far Cry. But then again, I guess 3 can't exactly be much worse. Resident Evil 6 I'm hoping isn't as bad as RE5 too actually. But I have more faith in Capcom than Ubisoft. I agree with the rest though.
Also good news:
1) Morrigan DLC coming for Dragon Age Origins
2) New DLC coming for Borderlands
3) New DLC coming for Mass Effect 2
Oh, and the fact that Duke Nukem Forever is being made by Gearbox, meaning that an actual developer is making it now, and not a group of developers run by scam-artists.
I'm confused as to how that was "This year" considering the game came out LAST year. You probably have to add MW2 not having dedicated servers.

What about the dedicated server monopoly for Black Ops?
the_mitch28
Hah, true, but is anyone really suprised here. I got to hand it to Activision. They not only built up the hype (and a lot of PC pre-orders) on the promise of dedicated servers only to end up having complete control on the servers themselves, plus make a ton of money on these server fees. They HAVE TO be getting some major kick backs from the monopoly server company. That company did not get this setup for free, i promise you that. Its a win-win-win situation for Activision.

Yeah the problem is this company is pathetic where I live, they have like 10 servers spread across 5 games and they only host out of one state. Why wouldn't Activision at least sign different server companies specific to region? Because here all the large popular server companies are owned/run by internet providers.

Ya, i saw someone else mention this the other day. I feel for you guys. I'm in the US, but it seems incredibly unfair to people in other parts of the world.
Ok, Far Cry 3 is not coming out this year. Major projects like this are announced two years ahead, Ubi hasn't announced anything , you can't rely on a wikipedia link as confirmation.
Best news for me is Torchlight II and Fort Zombie announcement.
Project offset cancellation indeed is bad news since it was looking very promising ( damn Intel and larabee ) Also bad news for me at least is Elemental War of magic and that its a buggy mess ( sure i will get it in a few months after a few patches and community fixes but its always bad releasing such a promising game broken as hell )[/QUOT
Alright he admited he made a mistake..How ever people who buy the product now will get..A free expansion game FREE..What company do you no of that does this not many..Hes living up to his mistake an bringing the community a free game thats incredible in my eyes..Sure the game shouldve been released maybe next year..How ever they are addressing the bugs..Giving a way a product..That for me makes up this mess..Hes a great guy for doin thing for the fans..At least he admitted doing this an is making up for it..Not leaving his game in limbo like many other products that have come out over the years..
Civ five is out this year, crysis 2 even though its a port im still buying it for the pc..For my rpg needs im buying gothic 4 an two worlds 2..Look its not a bad year for pc gaming..Mafia 2 out was a great game short but great..Ill replay it over the years just like mafia 1..
I would put that under best news :PWorst news: Fable III PC delayed
shakmaster13
How so? If the Xbox version is out first then the PC sales are going to be hit so hard. I guess the only good thing would be that there would be a little more work put into the PC version but I won't be able to wait for it. Being a huge fan of the series I'll be there to get the 360 version on day one :P

i dont care about sales, we still get the game. Hopefully the game is decent though.I'm not sure I would agree with these. Mainly Far Cry 3. I don't consider DLC good news. I would be more than happy if the whole idea died out.
I agree that I was upset at the news that there would be no PC version of Alan Wake (although I secretly habour the notion that it might still happen), especially after Microsoft had trumped it up as something needing DirectX 10 and only running on Vista or above. Plus the reason they gave was appauling.
Concerning Duke Nukem: I still refuse to believe it.
The worst news is Assassin's Creed Brotherhood will have DRM.face_ripperAnd that it will be delayed. Pff. I agree with most of TC's points though, and I'm hoping Far Cry 3 will be vastly improved over what Far Cry 2 was. It can't be hard to improve on that, they just need a better story, better mission types and a more fleshed out world in general. Also looking forward to Borderlands GOTY edition as I've been wanting to play it for a long time. Some of the best news though is Bioshock Infinite. Still waiting on good news for the PC version of Crysis 2.

Agree... YEAH !Mystic-GMultiplatform Battlefield 3! uh. Yeah. This. The one thing that truly disappointed me this year.
I have played BF2 and it was great. What changes are they making to the third, now that it is a multiplatform title, that will make it different?

People remember Battlefield as a franchise that wasn't possible on consoles at the time. Most people expect the same thing this time around instead of becoming static to suit them. Please Log In to post.
