OK im going to clear some things up for you.
What you have right now for a "graphics card" is an intel intergrated chip. These chips are designed to be low cost ways for them to enable basic graphics on your computer without including an actual graphics card. They are actually part of your computer. If you were to open your computers case right now you would see that the video out port(vga port that is blue where you plug in your monitor in) is actually attached to the motherboard. A graphics card is instead an external device from the motherboard, and is usualy plugged in through an agp or pci-e(or rarely pci) slot on the motherboard.
Intergrated chips(what you have now) do not tend to have very complex or fast processors for performing graphical calculations, hence the reason bf2 wont load, the chip cant do what bf2 is asking it to do. So you will need to buy a graphics card instead to use. Now im guessing your from the states so your prcing is different then mine(im from canada) but a 7600gs as posted above would be a suitable card for playing bf2. First however youll have to see if your computer has a slot to support it.
Im guessing this is a recently bought computer, so it will include either a pci-e slot or, if no pci-e slot then you would have to use a pci slot. AGP is an older type of slot that for most computers is not used anymore. The difference between pci and pci-e is that the -e version is capable of transfering data much faster than the pci slot. If you know the model of your computer, post it here and i can look up what type of slot you ahve for you. Then all you would have to do is visit your local electronics store and purchase anew card. It would be my recommendation to just install this card yourself, as it can be a very quick and painless operation with a few instructions to follow.
First turn off your computer. disconnect cables and open the case. locate the slot that you will use and remove the back panel that is blocking the port where the graphic card will stick out(usualy this is a metal plate held i by screws)and insert the card firmly into the slot(most cards go in with little to no resistance, but make sure the card is in there well.)
now clsoe up the case and plug your monitor into your new graphics card out port. If your graphics card out port is different then your monitors plug in, you may have to use a converter(95% of the time this is supplied with the card). turn on your computer. Now this step can go two ways:
1. if there is a picture then good, but pay attention, when the computer starts up it hould show something that says press _____ to go to setup or go to bios or something along those lines. _______ is usualy f2 if you have a dell or f10 if it is a compaq, some others use f12 or del, but just watch. Now in here, dont go screwing around. Your here for one purpose, and that is to disable the old intel chip so there is no conflicts somewhere doown the road. Somewhere in this menus there should be one that lists onboard devices, or something of that manner. If you find this then what you are looking for will be called onboard video or onboard intel graphics controller. if you find either of these select them and change them to disabled or off. Now exit and save changes when it asks. Your computer will restart as normal, and violla youll be back in xp. From here on out install the software included with your graphics card, however this software tends to be outdated. I would reccomend after installing the software included to go to the respected site(http://www.nvidia.com/ or http://www.ati.com/) and download the newest software for your card. This will ensure the best compatability with games.
2. if there is no picture. Hold the power button on your computer for 5 or seconds untill it shuts off. Now replug in your ideo cable to the original spot(the intel chip) and restart. Let the computer boot up and when it enters windows it will most likely turn on and say found new hardware instaling. Install it with the software included. then shutdown your pc.After turning it off plug the cable back into your new graphics card. but pay attention, when the computer starts up it hould show something that says press _____ to go to setup or go to bios or something along those lines. _______ is usualy f2 if you have a dell or f10 if it is a compaq, some others use f12 or del, but just watch. I hope this answers any/all questions or concerns you ahd and if you need help with anything else please let me know. If you post your computers model number as i said i may be able to get more direct and detailed instructions for you
