Do any of you know if you will be able to use a 360 controller in multiplayer? I feel much more comfortable with a controller than I do with the M/KB set up.

iirc, Demize99 (senior gameplay designer's Twitter) has confirmed that it will support Xbox controllers from the start, but there will be no autoaim option.
Yea you should be good to go. I wouldn't recommend using it in multiplayer. Practice more with M/KB, it's the only way to get use to it. I use to feel uncomfortable too, but now it is more comfortable to me than my 360 controller for Windows.millerlight89
yeah I remember the first time I used the WASD + Mouse setup for the first time (I think it was for Unreal), man, it was weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeird...I was so used to the arrow keys and autoaim :P
But a month or two later I got used to it, and tens years later, any time I sit at a computer, my hand immediately goes for the mouse and my left hand rests on WASD with my thumb on the spacebar :D
Anyway, as others have said, it will support controller; I believe I read it somewhere, and it is also a multiplatform title and those generaly support gamepads.
Still, I gotta strongly recommend that you use the mouse and keyboard, or else you will be slaughtered.
But dude....you will get SLAUGHTERED with people playing KB/MSDo any of you know if you will be able to use a 360 controller in multiplayer? I feel much more comfortable with a controller than I do with the M/KB set up.

Battlefield is all about map navigation, your ability to aim well isn't much of a factor, unless you attack head on at all times.Do any of you know if you will be able to use a 360 controller in multiplayer? Dice never properly supports gamepads. Its always messed up. Xpadder works but the controls are never quite right.

He'd do worse if he tried using a mouse/keyboard. If he's comfortable with a controller, he'll make do.

He'd be better off, in the long run, if he just gets use to M/KB.[QUOTE="Phoenix534"][QUOTE="FelipeInside"] But dude....you will get SLAUGHTERED with people playing KB/MSC_Rule

I'm not saying he can't hold his own with a controller.... but if he wants to game on PC (not just with BF3) it's good to get used to KB/MS for other games as well.[QUOTE="C_Rule"][QUOTE="Phoenix534"]He'd be better off, in the long run, if he just gets use to M/KB. Even if you're a noob at playing with KB/M, you'll still play better than you would with an Xbox controller. That's just how it is. I read about a study where they had professional console players (who used a gamepad) against noobs that used KB/M... the professionals didn't just lose--they got SLAUGHTERED.JipsetI've actually seen that video..... I remember seeing a part where by the time the console player turned around to aim.... the other PC player had already HEADSHOT him...

When I first switched from xbox to PC and started playing CS:S I got head shotted so many times from peaking around a corner for what seems like a fraction of a second, I still think to my self...That would never happen on xbox.
@TC I still get owned in CS:S but I'm also starting to do my own, and I don't regret forcing myself to use the M/KB.
A controller would probably work better for certain parts of online. Like vehicles.
Also, some people (like myself) are pretty good with controllers in fps even against some playing with M/KB. Of course M/KB is more precise but its a matter of preference. Use whatever is more fun.
The XBox 360 controller might be adequate enough for singleplayer in Battlefield 3. For multiplayer, I'd definitely use keyboard and mouse.
Don't see a point in entering a PC FPS with a gamepad. You won't have much fun.
No sticky aim on PC. ;)C_Rule
I think using a gamepad for a PC FPS is good for people that have the gaming PC's connected to their TV and want to sit on a couch while gaming. It's very impractical to use a keyboard and mouse while sitting on a couch playing a FPS PC game.
Does MotionJoy work? If Xbox360 Controller is supported, then just use Xbox360 Controller Emulation Profile... if not, then it's best to emulate the Xbox360 Controller and get Xpadder. The custom profile in Motioninjoy isn't stable/compatible with some games.[QUOTE="kozzy1234"]
Might not be supported natively but you can always use xpadder
