You decide whether it is worth it, some people don't think it is and others do. Personally, i really like the hbao and always run with it enabled. HBAO is less noisy up close and provides better depth, especially on foliage.
dont use MSAA, use SMAA

But if you use the FXAA injector you can't use SMAA which sucks. I like the AA of SMAA but the colour correction of the FXAA injector.
[QUOTE="SKaREO"]You should turn down all graphics to their minimum settings. It's an online first person shooter. Framerate > Pretty Graphicsmitu123Or you could get better hardware to max out games for online multiplayer and be able to play them while looking at their best...
But that's very expensive to do.Plus I can play the game above 45 FPS on high but I still bring everything way down to play. I am much more concerned with killing guys than how the game looks. Plus the game doesn't change all that much through the settings, when you're running around you wouldn't really notice.
I make sure now I got over 60 fps all the time even with everything happening at once. It's improved my game immensely since then
Thanks again for the replies guys, but I don't need to worry about framerate that much, I have an 6970 and it never dips below 40 FPS (some maps are unoptimized). I just generally wanted to ask this question in case there wasn't really any difference between some modes and I can perhaps get some extra frames while making the game look beautiful. :) By the way, should I have v-sync on or off? My FPS never goes above 60 (maybe cause I have it on), but I'm not sure if that makes an difference or not. Gamerperson33
In an online FPS game always have it off. It will negatively impact performance and your mouse sensitivity. BF3 doesn't have much screen tearing anyway which is what Vsync stops. It just makes everything appear smoother but it can sometimes add lag to your mouse controls (does for me anyway) so I never play with it on. Also you will get more frames with it off, try it out and see what you think

Better hardware also helps increase FPS even on lower settings as well, hell you could get way over 60FPS!:shock:You should turn down all graphics to their minimum settings. It's an online first person shooter. Framerate > Pretty GraphicsSKaREO
Yup, save perty graphics for single player.

Keep mesh quality on ultra though, or else you will be killed by far away enemies that you can't see.You should turn down all graphics to their minimum settings. It's an online first person shooter. Framerate > Pretty GraphicsSKaREO
yeah, if you run the game on a toaster. some people can have both, you know.
