With a mouse, it's quick and easy to scan left/right for enemies. On console, you either took it slow or ran like hell and hoped someone walked into your FoV. Movement and quick thinking are fairly important in BFBC2. When you see an enemy, you immediately have to judge the situation and whether or not you can engage. If you go shooting at every enemy in sight, you'll get yourself killed fairly quickly. You're bound to attract the attention of 1 of the 32 players in BFBC2 should you go on a shooting spree. If you do start taking fire, you need to find your way to cover. Rarely are you supposed to engage someone who gets the first shot. I only do that when I don't have enough time to run away. If you can run away, you can usually suprise them as they come around the corner chasing you. With the mouse, it's very easy to change directions quickly, which can throw off people shooting at you.
When it comes to fire control, tap firing works for 99.99% of the weapons in BFBC2. If you're holding down the trigger hoping it hit someone, you're doing it wrong. Targets need to be led a little and don't go shooting at someone you don't think you can kill unless you're trying to cover a friendly. The obvious example would be to avoid trying to take on snipers at long range with an smg, unless you know their scope isn't pointing at you.
The best advice yet is to just stay with your team. They'll spot and distract enemies, but they'll also cover you while you heal if you run behind/near them. Flanking can get you a lot of kills, but it can also get you killed if you're not quick.
The only major differences between console and PC versions is that it takes significantly more to kill someone and the movement on console is much more restrictive (harder to turn). So basically, your targets are more hearty and more agile.

This is the best advice so far. Especially the "tap shooting" single or burst shots are best. Always leading running targets. Know what your gun can and can't do. If you go full auto with a gun with small clips or high rates of fire you will run out of ammo and be left wide open. Always reload when you're safe too. Don't just relaod everywhere and anywhere be smart about it and also changing to your pistol to finish a guy or when you can't reload fast enough can save your ass
Like he said don't engage enemies who hit you first, at close range anyway, from distance you could get lucky. But he who shoots first wins most of the time. Choose the right scope to use too. I always use red dots because the ACOG sights bounce around too much when shooting. I have become pretty good at distance too with a red dot. If a guy shoots at you and you hide behind a corner drop a grenade at your feet so when he comes around it takes a chunk from his health and leave you with less shots to take him down.
Never ever stand still unless you know you're safe. When arming M-COM's or anything like that constantly strafe left and right to avoid unnecessary headshots from snipers. Or even when surveying areas always strafe back and forth because guys won't be able to hit you as cleanly and it gives you time to run away before the bullets actually kill you.
Spot all the time too. It garners extra points, especially when attacking m-com's. Hit Q (whatever button you have assigned) all the time on things. All those little extra points add up and put you higher on the scoreboard.
And stay near medics :P especially the ones who actually revive people
Guy above These are all I can think of really. Even though one of them is my post lol

If you follow all these things you should do good. If not then its down to just not enough practice yet. Biggest rule is to use your head and your team
