Has anyone upgraded yet from BIOS to UEFI?

An update is up for my motherboard and I was thinking of trying it.

It certainly boots faster.

I switched back to Bios because my Linux knowledge was'nt adequate enough to compile a 64 bit UEFI Grub bootloader.

Yeah, my Asus m5a97 came with UEFI. It's quite amazing for a BIOS interface. Mine is actually very slow upon loading up, but the interface is nice.. using a USB mouse and all. Plenty of options and it's pretty interface. It's cool how there's a sort of emulation too. You can use a USB drive to emulate an optical drive or HDD, for example. I can't find a reason you'd want to, but if you did, you can. I installed Win7 via USB too (I have no optical), but alot of BIOS can do that.

Been using UEFI for a while. Its nice. Much better than a traditional BIOS in every way.

Except one: It apparently tries to boot from my cell phone if its pluggedin regardless of the boot order i pick. If i turn on my PC it remainds blank until i unplug my phone.

It'll do that with your printer too if it is the the kind that has a memory card reader.

disable "usb storage function" in the bios.
