I picked my copy up this morning and played about 2 hours worth. So far it feels more difficult than the first, but in a good way. I just caught my first glimpse of Project Delta... so who got it?

Yes it does! PC version can be used to get gamerscore for your xboxlive account :D
Think I got 100 or 120 gamerscore so far for it :P
I have the game for PC but its showing up in my xbox live gamercard :P
I would even go as far to say that the atmosphere is a bit better.I have been playing :D
Ive got about 4 hours in so far, very very fun.
I was expecting it to be not as good as part 1, but they really improved the gunplay/gameplay this time around.. while keeping the good atmosphere and story ;)

Check out the screenshot thread of mine! I have like 12 Bioshock2 screenshots I took today in that thread! I made them a little smaller so people didnt have to scroll, but want to view the whole size of the picture you can just take the ADDRESS and copy and paste and it will show you the full size! (or right click and VIEW as Miller said).

storywise does it seem a worthwhile sequel? or prequel or whatever it is?
kozzy1234
I think the story is very good so far! I thought the story might be the down fall of this game, but they have surprised me nicely so far!
Agreed, the story is actually very good. I also enjot playing a big daddy more than expected
Nice screenies, game looks good. Kinda lacks AA though, propably the detail/size of the levels and improvements cannot be handled that well nowadays from the unreal engine 2.5!!As for the story, gough , gough, i found the first story kinda unimpressive, i just dont see whats so great about it. Perhaps because the plot twists were the same as system shock 2 and i kinda expected that that will happen, anyway it did not hurt the overal quality of the game, its just did not impress me as much as others!. I hope that story in bioshock2 will seem kinda "fresh" to me, anyway the first game was great, not one of my favorite games but it was pretty good, so i am definetly buying the second game.

As for the story, gough , gough, i found the first story kinda unimpressive, i just dont see whats so great about it. The first game had an amazing story, easily one of the best I have ever played. That is what was so compelling about it. The story had a fantastic antagonist (actually 2, Ryan and Fontane), and the supporting characters were just as interesting. The twists in the game added some great surprises in it also. Also, what the heck is "gaugh, gaugh?" Do you mean cough?
I enjoyed the first Bioshock for its atmosphere and story, but if you didnt like the story in Bioshock1, you stillmight enjoy the story in Bioshock2. IGN said they enjoyed the story more in Bioshock2, as have a few other reviews.. although gamespot said they enjoyed the 1st ones story more. Give it a try and see!

Yeah i meant cough, cough. I meant i dont wanna be annoying, but let me explain you why the story did not impress me, it felt like system shock 2, the similarities in the story were very similar:
In system shock 2 you arive are in a spaceship and some scientist contacts you in the radio and guides you through the game just like Atlas in bioshock. What it turns out is that the scientistic has a fake identity and its actually the villian of the game, Shodan. Just like Atlas is really Fontaine, the bad guy of the game. Also just like you never fight Ryan as the big bad guy that you thought to be in bioshock, with exactly the same way you dont fight Xerxes in system shock 2 since the main villan, fontaine/shodan, takes over and you find out that you are working for him!!
See what i am talking about? So if i have played system shock 2 and then i play bioshock knowing that its basicly a game that came from system shock 2, i kinda feel that the the story is very similar and the twists were the same. So as you understand the story did not amaze me. It felt pretty much"expected" to me. Kinda cliche, kinda like it was nothing new, kinda like i have seen it before!

Felt very similar as system shock 2, thats why i did not see what was so great about it. But i agree the atmosphere and art where shining in that game, unlike most games out there that have very uninspired level design!
The first game had an amazing story, easily one of the best I have ever played. Since I never got to play System Shock 2 due to entering PC gaming in 2000 and just never set out to go try the game. I guess that is why I really loved the story of Bioshock, but for someone who has played System Shock 2 I can see as to why you did not enjoy it as much.
As for the story, gough , gough, i found the first story kinda unimpressive, i just dont see whats so great about it. dakan45
