It's a huge issue with GFWL. I went through the same thing and I nearly pulled my hair out. Took me an hour or so to troubleshoot. What you have to do is uninstall the game and then reinstall it. Sign in to GFWL. When it asks to update through GFWL. DO NOT update. Find the Bioshock 2 patch and update manually. Grab all the patches. After every patch you manually install, it will ask you to sign in (I believe). So when you sign in and it asks you to auto update, hit NO. After you're done with all the updates, it shouldn't prompt you with an update any more.

Now please make sure "auto sign-in" is checked off. You do not want GFWL to automatically sign you in.

Once you are able to start a game and play, there will be a game save file corruption issue that you'll run into. When you run into this problem, go into your game save folder, and delete all the files that are 0kb in size. Those are corrupted. Delete those and you'll be fine from then on. Be sure to always back up your game saves and deleting those corrupted game save files if they ever show their face again. Of course, they will always be 0kb in size. But they shouldn't come back up any more but it's good to check to be sure.

It isn't that. He has to manually install all the patches. It's a sure fix. And then delete the corrupted game files. No issues after that.

TC, refer to this page if you need to:

Wierd, it worked perfectly fine for me the day it came out.

DOwnloaded off steam and then started it up and it worked right away. Played about 4 hours straight and no crashes or anything.

Hope you get it working!

Only issue I have had with GFWL is on one game I had to install the patches on my own (Think it was the latest red faction).

Am I the only one, who hasn't had a major problem with it and played a GFWL game flawlessly?
